Does FUEL grind at the start?
I just started playing FUEL after picking it up in the Codemasters Indie Gala and I think I'm a bit disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting, but so far, FUEL feels rather underwhelming. I played through an hour or two and didn't actually feel like I was having fun. Going from race to race, driving long distances, only to be mislead by the Smart GPS was off putting.

So I ask this, does FUEL feel bad at the beginning and pick up as you progress, or should I consider shelving this title?

It's pretty much the same all the way through. You unlock faster vehicles and the tracks get longer/more difficult. You can go hunting for new paintjobs and vista points.

Well, I can see how going from race to race might be a bit tedious. If playing FUEL doesn't make you want to go offroad and explore, it's probably not a good game for your playing style right now. I'd suggest to try it again in a year or so, but since GFWL will probably be down by then, the point is moot (unless we get a patch that removes it).
