What are team mates for?
Is it they bring in money to the team? If yes, do they bring in the percentage shown (such as 10% race winnings) or is that money for them and I keep the 90%?

What other benefit is there? Each region different teammate too?

They earn the same sponsor-money as you. 10% race winnings mean that you get 90% of his prizemoney. Your teammate will race with you in every region, I think he will just be better in his "home" region. Also, you get bonus money when you win with your team.

Teammate totally sucks. My first one got 18th and DNF in his one championship event.

Then fired and got another....paid 65k on top of that. He got a DNF and then 17th. Am I doing something wrong or what?

mine is getting from 2-10 place normally. Maybe try to save up more money, like half a million.

WAHT!!!??

I'm just afraid it'll end up being a waste...again.

But I'm loving the game the more I play it. After the first season I just skip Le Mans...such a chore that is.

spend more money on a better team mate. like a few million bucks. teammates not only bring in more money, but if you look, all races your in have two-man teams. team race finish points are tallied between both racers. if your alone and get 1st place, its hard to win the series as other teams have a second driver to add their score to the final team point tally, and would prolly beat your score.

Mine seem to be useful for coming in 8th no matter how much I pay for them or where I race...

I just paid 4 million for a dude, and he's worse than the previous guy who I paid 250k for. So far, 3 terrible team mates and one decent one (the german chap who cost me 250k).

I have no problem with my team mate. Some times you are unlucky..pick a other 1.

Also, look at their favorite discipline. They should be very good in those types of events.

I consistently find that if you pick a high paid team mate who takes a big profit share (50%) and whose stats are terrific (eg: close to the edge of all or nearly all stats), they will at least do great on their discipline and one other and still do fine on the rest. I picked a really highly ranked GT1 guy for a while and he was actually my main competition for every GT race.

Pick the most epxensive teammate you can afford. You'll get a lot of money from sponsorship even if they take a big cut from winnings.

Just go for an expensive driver with good stats, and get some sponsorships deals that have a range of goals and that should help get some money in.

My team mate is always 2th, Because I'm always the one who's FIRST :P

They help you (sometimes) to get more money, or get DNF xD.
Get the best one, don't worry about money, is easy to get money in GRID.
Also make sure you use all of the sponsors slots to get as much money as possible.

Try Rockford, if you can afford him. He'll bring in big money most of the time and you'll play hell staying in front of him unless you're mucho hombre. He'll be your main competition.
