Should I get this when I already have L4D2
They're both zombie shooters. They look very similar but then Killing floor looks more unfinished. I don't like the font of the words, it looks like times in new roman bland font. I heard good things about the game though. Lots of people say it's really different and much more fun than L4D2 but I'm not convinced. I might buy it though but can people explain how much different it is from L4D and how it's more fun? Or perhaps give me a guest pass :D I really wish they had a free weekend.

Someone gave me a guest pass already :) But thanks sooo much for offering. I'm hoping to buy the game. Btw it's 4.49 on amazon right now :D

Killing Floor is more surivival-oriented.
Left 4 Dead (2) is more story-oriented.
Both games emphasize teamwork. (Left 4 Dead moreso, because of the damn pinning infected).

The only reason I can think of for Killing Floor looking "unfinished" is because it's an Unreal Tournament (2004?) standalone mod.

To be honest, I let the "it sounds like L4D but looks different" fool me at first, and then I tried it.

Bearing in mind that "better" is purely a matter of opinion, I honestly never got all that excited about L4D (or L4D2) survival modes because they just aren't all that much fun to me; campaign and Vs. are great because you have actual difficult (or is it 'preferential'?) decisions to make and the characters are a lot of fun, but survival is just "hold up where you're near ammo until you get overrun". KF forces you to make actual difficult decisions more often than you'd like to with enemies that react differently to gunfire, moving traders, actual tangible ressource management...

Not sure how long you've got on a guest pass, but definitely try it out with friends at least once on Normal long (or harder if you're a masochist) before forming an opinion... Beginner will probably seem really easy and dull, particularly if you're used to how quickly infected react in L4D on higher difficulties... Normal, well... the fleshpound isn't the tank. :P

Actually, feel free to add me if you're up for some normal long tonight. Not sure which timezone you're in, but I'll be available around 5pm Atlantic/4pm Eastern today. :D

It is kind of more like the CoD zombies than the L4D ones :)

l4d is so utterly boring compared to KF
ItsQuaid Nov 19, 2012 @ 7:40am
Killing Floor imo resembles Resident Evil 2/3 in the horror/tension sense.
Left 4 Dead 2 imo resembles Resident Evil 5/ORC in the sense it has nice graphics... but the gameplay is boring and not very much tension.

IMO KF>L4D2

Both are similar as far as incorporating teamwork but if your looking for a classic horror game compared to nice visuals... and well nice visuals get Killing Floor. I heard its $5 on Amazon right now.

@ RU-MAN... HELL TO THE ♥♥♥♥ NO

You should get Killing Floor! In my oppinion, Left 4 Dead 2 is too much Zombie Run... If your guest pass has expired, you can use mine :D

Have a read of this while it's downloading, when I first started playing guides like this can help you fit into a team better if you know your perks role, it gives you an idea what you're capable of taking down and when you should hold fire and let another perk deal with it, demo taking down Fleshpounds as an example. You'll find a lot of guides around, some even show you combo moves in a video, I'll also recommend having a look at some of those, check out the video section:

One thing I will say, as a beginner it is a dificult game when you first start but don't give up, with an organised team it's very enjoyable, have fun :D
Who do you voodoo bitch?! Nov 19, 2012 @ 4:13pm
for me, L4D is nothing compare to Killing Floor :) So you should really try it out!
HUNTER0CALVARY Nov 19, 2012 @ 7:00pm
powerfull guns, slow mo, diffrent perks, amazing music(Killing Floor) > L4D1&2
Archlion Nov 19, 2012 @ 7:06pm
Well I played it for 2 hours and it's not really that fun. Maybe I just haven't tried much stuff yet. So basically in the game you just kill zombies, buy new guns, kill more zombies? Nothing else to do? I got kinda bored, maybe because the difficulty was too easy. I was playing on hard difficulty. But usually I was just joining random matches. It was pretty easy but then the only hard parts is the final boss and the Flesh Pounders.
