This is a sequel of sorts, but unfortunately it is nothing like kf as we know it.

yes there will be a KF2. TWI has as much as stated so. My guess is they've already been working on it internally for a minimum of 6 months. They released RO2 over a year ago now, and more recently were working on Rising storm. Now that RS is out the door they will be focusing a lot more effort on the next big project. I'd expect some info to start coming out about the game within a year or so.

i think it would be great if they had a killing floor 2. more weapons and more monsters pluse adding more mission map and high levels. it would be great

It would be pretty Sick if they added a Story to it.

No! I think they should not have a second killing floor, that's stupid, the first one's fine
ReptarTease Jun 20, 2013 @ 2:27pm
I think a second killing floor with an updated graphics engine, a better multiplayer setup, different classes, more enemies, and more maps would be fantastic. Although, they could just go with the Valve route like with L4D to L4D2. Slightly better textures, more characters, more special infected, and more maps. Either way, I would be happy.

I want statistics. Also, they should have a global kill count. Be cool if we got X amount of kills globally, we'd get new content, like maps and weapons.

with better hit detection, animations, netcode and better craphics, i would buy the second one, even if it's just like the first one.

killing floor isn't about personal glory

what good is a multiplayer game where you have to have grinded for xyz to play map abc?

achieve linked skins and outtake style weapon unlocks is fair game. but map unlocks is not good for multiplayer.

as for why i do want a new KF
better phys system to replace the current simplistic one
better AI
new enemies with revised AI/behaviours for returning monsters
replace the perks with new versions with revised stats.
replace the dumber weapon choices with more appropriate weapons and get rid of the overlap
major graphics improvements, ie parallax, normalmaps, more complex skeletons, physics animations, better smoke and flame effects, refractive cloaked enemies
improved steam based server browser. current UDK has one so official licensee's are bound to have it
revised trader interface, something akin to counter strike source would be nice

a sequel is a reset button on the bad things in KF too. that list doesn't even touch on the long term bugs that could be fixed by simply not repaeting them in the first place...like dual wielding not becoming less accurate when you turn 90 degrees.

loads of reasons for a sequel. almost none for no sequel. only two good ones i've seen, and disagree with, splits the community...not really the bulk of the community will play whichever games is better made. the rest are just masochistic. the other is that KF runs on old hardware and a new KF wouldn't likely... unreal 3 runs on a damn x360 if your pc cant keep pace with a console designed in 2005, you've had 8 years to save the cash for something thats better than an xbox one (which is pretty damn easy to afford as it's an AMD apu) you dont need to be flush to buy a pc capable of unreal 3...it can run on your web browser.

i doubt anyone will get a license to release with unreal 4 before fortnite comes out.

1) What is wrong with wanting to know how many zeds I've killed or how many times I've died? And you don't get to make sweeping generalizations about what a game represents to different people.

2) What are you talking about grinding and letter non-sense? A global kill count is how many zeds the community has killed in total. When we hit a certain kill count, they could release new map packs and weapon packs. You know, as an incentive for playing the game. I am not talking about unlocking maps or weapons.

some arbitrary stat outside of the game is fine, during gameplay it encourages people to play poorly. you already have one of these arbitrary stats systems for your perk progression. how many sharpshooter headshots do you have...look under sharpshooter. it's meaningless outside of perk progression though

no a global kill count would be your stats, a community killcount is what your referring too and tripwire isn't about to gate content based on something like that. they are too small to hold back content until the community has grinded enough to deserve it.

killing floor just isn't the type of game that has leaderboards and grindfests. it's about teamplay and co-operation. there are a lot of reasons to make a sequel, but features like that would only serve to undermine what makes killing floor so popular.

I son't know why you're all arguing over stats unlocking DLC and such, I just wanna blow some more s**t up!! :D
