Besides using a cheat program or one of the leveling maps in Workshop, just play the game.

Levelling up will make guns cheaper and more powerful but it wont make you a good player.
I expect you will soon think you are good enough to play on hard, suicidal and hell on earth servers.
But if you join them you will die a lot (espcially after wave 7), not do your fair share and make the game harder for everyone else.
Then when you respawn you will ask for money and get upset when others stop supplying.

Get your hours up, learn what weapons work best against different zeds.
DO NOT RAGE SCRAKES AND FLESHPOUNDS.
Work out where zed, gun and ammo spawn points are located on every core map.
Practice, practice, practice.

Then you wont be another level 6 noob.

It's kinda true I have almost all perks lvl 6 now and I know which perk I suppose to take and which weapons are good.
If I take a sharpshooter I am dead after wave 3 xD
If I take a medic everyone dies
The classes that I prefer are Support, Firebug, Commando and Demo only on at the last wave!
But either I am good with them now at lvl 1 or 6, it doesn't really matter as long you know how to play your class.

My point was there are a few players now that are level 6 but still dont know how to actually play. You dont want to be one of them. They are an embarrassment to all that is good.

lvl6 noob means people who have leveled up on the leveling maps. They actually can't play the game but they have the lvl to join Sui or HoE games and (f)uck up everything for other players.

They are the main reason I am getting really frustrated at this game lately ... and I am thinking of renting a non public server for me and my friends to play on ...

Nah, don't do that. Us kewl players would miss u.
My solution for a while now is (if I get time) screen players joining by viewing their profile. If they have less than x amount of hours but are level 6, its a no brainer how they got there. If they block profile I treat them as one.
I don't kick. I merely don't give dosh, heal or stay near them.
More often than not they end up leaving after dieing within first 30 seconds of wave.
Basically I don't give dosh unless I can be reasonable assured that they are pro.
The reason they stick around is cos others supply them with cash.

I hope he meant that you should follow people who know what they are doing. Veteran players sometimes reset their perks and go through the motions again. Say for example that everyone is at the same level of hours played, it's still better watching the people who are doing well to learn what they are doing, and what you're not. Follow Red Leader :D

There are good players that goes to lower level, as low as normal(even easy) to find a "good game" because there are lots of noob level 6 on suicidal/HoE; spraying bullets as a commando on Scrakes and FPs, and not kiting.

Regarding the topic, try to learn several tactics while grinding and it will be a lot of fun. I was able to max level my Berzerker by cutting clots, gorefast, and stalkers; use my pistols on crawlers and bloats; and trust your sharpies in dealing with sirens, scrakes, and fleshies(I'll do it if we don't have one). Just keep the smaller critters away from the sharpies and demo guys, and everything will be fine, before I realize it, my Zerker and Shapie are already in level 6.

I find it pretty easy to level up Sharpshooter and Medic. They are my highest levels at 5.

Given that you start with a 9mm and most players buy a LAR and the Crossbow is very versatile. You can just sit back, and shoot into the distance.

Medic, pretty easy. Just heal players whenever they are down on health, whether you are a medic or not.

Support, needs welding of doors which takes time. And commando needs to kill stalkers which can be difficult when other players take em out first.

To level up 'very easily', well there is only one way...

Note about Commando leveling, certain maps are better than others. West London or Manor are great because they are relatively open spaced and stalkers tend to spawn from a point most players aren't guarding constantly. Biotic Labs is horrible because most of the time you will be camping a corridor where everyone will surely kill your stalkers. For example, the highway and dock area from both maps are a great way to farm those kills.

Fair warning, out of all perks, Commando is the most grindy thanks to the stalker requirement.

But worth it.

Really useful in surviving solo through kiting, specially on Suicidal and HoE. :D

Honestly I freaking love shooting bullets downrange. The sound coming from the Thompson is almost silent on automatic, and booms when in semi-auto. Nothing will be as satisfying as emptying every rifle you have into the meat bags in front of you ... WOMBO COMBO[inception.davepedu.com]

But I have a beef with how Commando and Medic perk bonuses are not working as intended.

I'm talking about increased clip size. Seems that Medic guns get more bullets in the mag, but at the cost of less reserve ammo. I never noticed that with Commando.
