Perk save progress not updating/saving.
I bought Killing Floor yesterday, and have realised that my Perk Progress has not been saving (After I leave the server/ new game starts). I have even ranked up certain perk classes to level 1, and the next game I am back down to level 0 again - as if I have never even played the game before. I am on Mac using Mountain Lion 10.8.2. I have already had a quick look on the community hub and Google for answers and have tried to varify my cache, which takes around a minute to complete, at first I thought this worked, but clearly hasn't. The only way my perk progress will save is if I play solo, which kinda sucks, as I wanna play with my friend. If you have any help that will resolve the issue, please answer below. I am on Mac 10.8.2. Thanks

First, you have to be online for perk progress to save, even when playing solo.

Second, you can not use any grey listed mutators. The multiplayer server can't be running any grey listed mutators either.

Third you can not be in Sandbox

If you aren't doing any of those, then try this sequence, even though some is a repeat of what you did. It must be done in order.

Unsubscribe from all Workshop mods. Delete your klling floor system folder, then validate your game cache. It ensures a fresh install of the entire folder. Step by step instructions are in the guide below.

Delete Killing Floor SDK and the steam appid file. If that doesn't work you might have to try deleting the game and reinstalling.

The guide has about a dozen potential fixes. Usually its mods or the system folder causing the issue.

Before you go about deleting your folders and redownloading them. Make sure you don't have any greylisted mutators running to just to be safe, try turning them all off. Try playing on a few different servers and see if it saves, that server may have been running mutators that weren't whitelisted which may be why your perk progress didn't save. Try find a vanilla unmodded server. If that doesn't work and verifying your Game Cache and restarting Killing Floor and Steam didn't work, then go about deleting and redownlading the folder. I'm not familiar with Mac's so I'm afraid I won't be able to help much with that.

Good Luck!

Thanks Skylar Icarus, you are right, I have picked the correct server and progress has saved. I have also faviourted a few servers that are whitelisted; so i'm good for the future. Thanks guys.
