Berzerkers need something with range
Demo needs something that wont blow himself up for close range
Support can carry a lot and could use something for longer range or accuracy
Medics make great use of melee to take aggro and almost anything beats medic guns for damage to non-trash zeds
Commando takes advantage of his reload speed with more powerful off-perk gear
Firebug could use something for more direct stopping power
Without learning to mix it up as needed dont expect to get far
you want a good versatile team
Nothing wrong with experienced players getting offperk weapons, but new players can hardly take advantage of the offperkness. And most of the time, the players actually buy the weapon offperk which is a huge waste of money. Rather than purchasing the weapon while on-perk, such as going firebug to purchase trenchgun before switching to support, they'll spend extra money to get the AK47 they love regardless of perk.
Experienced players: keep experimenting with offperk combos.
New players: please stick to onperk weapons until you understand perk and weapon benefits better. It's harder to go wrong this way :D
That's all quite true. But for the specific weapon/perk examples of the OP there isn't really any reason to get those weapon/perk combos.
Support with an ak47 maybe... for stalker kills. But a bullpup is far cheaper, and can be found on the map anyway.
But yes, a commando with a mac 10. I really don't see the point, anyone else aparts from a firebug with a flamethrower or a mac 10 is wasting time and money. Off perk trench gun and flare pistols are ok.
Kiting loadouts: Zerk Xbow and Axe. This is my ideal load out i can take out those annoying husks and sirens from a safe distance with the xbow and kill all the other zeds with the axe. 9mm for crawlers.
Kiting loadouts: Zerk Claymore, Lar, Flares. This loadout is very effective you can burn sirens from a distance with the flares and take out crawlers with ease using the lar.
People tell me it sucks and that I should probably just throw grenades and get a lever rifle. They're probably right, but man, that gun is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun to use :D
Skim my little dolphins of death, skim!
Oh that was another one, Sharpshooter bought a Seeker Six... Used 3 shots and didn't kill a lone Gorefast.... T_T
Seeker 6 doesn't check for headshots, the sharp shooter's main advantage. Sad day indeed TnT
Shotguns are not good for medics, or off-perk in general for that matter. They're too slow and ineffective.
The LAR is a great off-perk weapon, for berserkers and medics in particular. Kills sirens and husks in two shots and stuns husks. The MK23 is another great off-perk weapon that is better at killing groups of weak zeds. It decapitates anything up to and including a gorefast and also penetrates to hit multiple zeds.
If you can get a berserker to buy you a katana, it can be used to kill weak zeds on the move or get the attention of a charging scrake or fleshpound if things go south. If need be, it can also be used to kite fleshpounds without wasting ammo or to flinch a charging scrake to avoid the swipe it does when it first reaches you.
Schneidzekk is the best medic gun. It decapitates or kills any trash zed with a quick tap, using only two-three bullets.
All four of these weapons can be carried at the same time. It makes the medic very versatile and able to handle anything in the event that your teammates get themselves killed despite your healing.
