Preferred Initial Perk

Just out of preference, what perk do you usually load into the game with just to play around with before you settle on what perk you want to be by the end of wave 10? I like to go Sharp for wave 1 just so I can get the MK23 and whatever other guns I want to fight with by wave 2.

firebug for the free armour on hoe for first 3 waves or medic 4fun on lower diffs.

Depends on how I am playing the map. Solo HOE in a place like offices I will go Firebug for the first 6 waves then change to support. In an open kite map I will start as Sharp for the free xbow and cheap mk, then switch to Medic at the first trader after buying the mk. A place like stronghold that is kind of a kite map with tight spaces.. I just stay a zerk the whole time.
In a team situation it becomes more difficult to change perks as late joiners need money on higher difficulties, so in order to give money to people I may start as firebug but change to Sharp and give money to someone joining as support or demo... a lot depends on the make up of the perks when people join.. hard to give one difinitive answer.

Usually medic since they spawn with a gun and armor, making them more cost effective to start as. Firebug also does that, but having a firebug on the team makes the game about ten times less enjoyable and I try to avoid subjecting my teammates to that. Sometimes sharpshooter, since it's a good perk to start with and the crossbow is fairly expensive if you started as another perk and don't have the time or opportunity to suicide and change perk.

So true, I always take a firebug to steal as many kills as I can. Money over everything, that is my attitude.

I go ss and change to zerker before the actual wave starts.
You can only do this when you start a game though.

i go commando the first ten waves, then switch to demo to buy a ton of pipes

Back in the day Sharpshooter for the crossbow, with a quick change to medic before wave began.

Now just whatever, but medic If i'm playing 'serious' on HoE or something. I'll probably stay as medic too...

Depends on how much i trust the team. I mean sometimes when you actually join after the 1st wave and you have time to observe while they clear the wave, if they took it no problem then i spawn as SS, However if they had a lot of troubles i spawn as medic. Thats on normal/hard. But when you talk about SUI/HOE i always spawn as medic cuz the free vest and again if no medic i stay as a medic if not then i change to SS or SP

I feel the Commando pretty useless when +1 SP is in the server. Am i the only one who thinks that?
