Flare Revolver question
Is this weapon effective to spam it against the body or should I always always try to aim for the head. I haven't tested it on hoe yet but it works wonders on hard.

It's best to use them when you are literally touching the zed. There is some glitch that causes the flares to hit twice if your character is touching the zed. At level 6 firebug, I am able to solo a 6p HoE scrake like this when he has a tiny bit of damage. A couple burn ticks of preemptive damage is enough for 11 flares to finish the job. Only problem with this strategy is that you are left vulnerable to other zeds during the execution. For that reason, it is best to leave the scrakes to the sharpshooter or support while you cover another open lane with your flamethrower. It's nice that you can kill scrakes with flares without them retaliating, but it doesn't mean you should always do it. Do not try this with fleshpounds since they cannot be flinch locked like scrakes can (and everytime I've done it, the best case scenario is that I kill the fp and survive with a sliver of health).

I do aim for the head when dealing with bloats, but I'd rather leave it to a sharpshooter to pop it instantly instead of leaving a burning meatshield alive protecting the zeds behind it. It's a great husk/siren killer though.

Onperk usage:
Its always better to use headshots. So few firebugs aim for head and just spam and get themselves killed. As example is a gorefast rush. If you have 4 gores rushing against you and you use bodyshots, it will take 3 bodyshots to kill just one and you will be attacked. On the other hand, using 4 headshots is much simpliier. On Hell on Earth its even less forgiving using bodyshots. As Immortal Nub said with bloats. Spamming 6 flareshots to his body is just irritating for other players. Bloat will serve as a meatshield , especially for sirens. But one headshot to his head is easy and you have a room to deal with zeds behind him fast.

Flares are so OP, you can even play solo camp Hell on Earth with just dual flares.
For scrakes, use dual flares. They cause flinchlock and as stated above be as close to his body as you can. You cannot aim all flare shots to his head during a flinchlock. No one can.
If you are inside a corridor and Scrake appears followed by trash zeds, use this strategy : go against him, throw nade at his body and start flinchlock with dualflares. He will die and trash zeds behind him too as long as there is no siren behind, so watchout for her (siren can cancel your flare shots as well as nades)
Killing multiple scrakes glued together is too possible. Just if no one else from your team is there to help, use these strategies:
1) go against first one and when using flinchlock move with said scrake few steps backwards. He will go with you while hes in that lock. Than reload and kill second, third etc.
2) If you have a zed gun in your loadout you can basically kill up to 10 full 6 players health scrakes with just one firebug nade as long as they will stay in stasis the whole time. Because zed gun stasis causes fire-based weapons to deal exponential damage every second (it works for patriarch as well)

Offperk usage:
Flareguns are good for setting up your grenades and also your pipe bombs. They have plenty of ammo for kiting. And also, you can slow-rage scrakes with them too but learn it in testmap before. No one wants enraged scrakes wandering around a map.

Hope this helps.
