The Vampiress?
I was wondering how the Vampiress plays and what she is good at doing. I'm currently playing through as a dwarf and was just planning on doing a Vampiress playthrough sometime after that and wanted to prepare myself.

I actually decided to make my playthrough with the Vampiress. Its a strong choice once you get it going. Very very little will be capable of truly threatening you except for the real dragons.

It will depend on what skills you run with too. If you boost your Vampirism and Bloodlust up you'll find her to be just plain deadly at night. Also since your gear directly impacts your vamp form (even though the vamp form appears to be an unarmed melee type.) and that can lead to awesome damage dealing potential.

One thing I noticed with the vamp form. As long as you are in the times of the day that incur sun damage you will note that you only do marginally more damage in that form so use it wisely if you have to change in the day. At night they apply some hidden modifier to the damage output because I can honestly say that vamp form does around 2x dmg which makes it obscenely deadly. Your attack doesn't seem to jump up like that just the damage.

Another ability to not underestimate is the Awaken Dead. You need a body to target with this move which can be kinda annoying when you're using this during thick mob encounters (it doesn't target well with loot around bodies unfortunately.) but it can also make certain encounters more feasible. when you are badly outnumbered by foes that are actually somewhat tough. I won't go into details because it would sorta spoil an area but you'll know it when you hit that spot. I found myself waiting for darkness and going on a highspeed run where I'd take down an outlying foe to awaken then I'd focus on making more and more. The duration of those awakened dead are only for the duration of your transformation. This makes it important that you boost that basic transformation ability every chance you get.

Another strong suit of the vampiress is your ability to regenerate HP. You should take full advantage of this early on and try to keep it up to reasonable levels as you progress around the world. I suppose that advice holds true of each strong suit. This is a strong melee class so choose your new skills with that in mind. Also some of the set items can be pretty nifty for boosting certain skills. Personally I didn't jump on the ride bandwagon because the time control ability allows you to basically jump a short distance even when you are pinned by an entangling spell however, there is a set of vampiress armor that is intended for those with the ride skill if you were interested in taking a horse. That's enough to get you started I think.

im late!

when the game first released i played a vamp to level 200++ in hardcore mode, there were only a handful of people higher level. I loved this game so much.

The vampire has this basic attack skill that doesnt look like much in knight form.
But in vampire form, it will gain a lot of damage modifiers and attacks i think 5 or 6 times.
Combined with damage boost from being a vampire and killing stuff, you will annahilate things at night, its complete overkill. Nothing compares to a vampire in the night in this game.
At day you are comparable to other classes, though they will probably be a bit better with good builds.

I forgot the trick, but with socketing skillrunes and making combos, you wont have to play in human form.

i was Chani if anyone remembers me, i still know some of the other names.

The vampiress is a great character and they should have kept her in Sacred 2. Excellent voice acting with a little humor thrown in. Lots of fun. Being able to play a dual character is a blast.

The most important thing to remember is to watch your regen times with all runes. After that, have the proper amount of life leech and the game is an absolute blast. Also, a vampiress is a great class to have as a runefinder for your other characters. The more runes a character uses, the less runes drop.

I was involved (still am) with a clan in Hardcore that played the game back in its glory days and we played the game for years. Still one of my favourites. :)
