Unhandled page fault on write access

GTA San-Andreas auto-updated today. After this update I can't load my saved game. When I'm trying to do it, I had the error: "Unhandled page fault on write access".

What is this? I do not want to start playing from scratch. How to fix this?!

Same here. Annoying as balls, I haven't tried starting a new game to see if that works, but loading different saves breaks consistently.

Starting new game works fine. Saving/loading new games - also work fine. But I do not want to lose all my progress!

Wow. Official advice is don't accept the update if you want to preserve saves. There's really no way back? Can an update be undone? I have 30 hours sunk into SA. Which doesn't sound like a lot, but that's 3/4 months of on-off leisure time for me. Christ.

Where have you seen official advice? Are they crazy? We pay money for the service, not for stupid updates in which I'm not even interested and moreover if there is no way back!

Also I do have the time machine. Does anyone know is it possible to restore something in this case?

Well, not official. The PC Gamer article linked in Steam on the subject but it confirmed that saves from the previous version would not work. I too find this crazy, but not sure what channels exist to plea or complain the case.

Yeah, it seems to be okay if you start a new game. I'm just a bit skeptical about starting again and then it messing up again if they fix the problem.

Does anyone know are they going to fix old savings? Or maybe some transfer script exists to convert old savings to new ones?

Same here, and after this update there is still no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1920 x 1080 option. Hell, I still can't switch between mac and pc on the same savegame... Nice update, what changed annyway?

Same Here i'll just play the game through again i guess but SERIOUSLY! NO 1920 X 1080 OPTION? GAH!
