GTA 4 graphics problem
It says my graphics settings are near or exceed the resource limit when it says 701/4031 mb and no matter what i change the settings to it still says that they're near or exceed.

i have a good computer but i can't change the settings at all, and the game never loads it just cycles through screen before the game, so i can't really help you.

I used to have that problem alot i reinstalled the game and it seemed to work and to change the settings you need to right click the game go to properties set launch options then type this -norestrictions

Follow these steps:
Right click on your desktop and Create new - text document.
Rename the text document commandline
Then, open up the text document and type in -availablevidmem 8
Then save the document and drag and drop it into your GTA IV folder
Start Menu>Computer>Local Disk C: (Or wherever you installed Steam) > Program Files (x86)
> Steam>Steamapps>Common>Grand Theft Auto IV>GTAIV

Also if -availablevidmem 8 doesn't work then try typing in -availablevidmem 2.0

Follow what Junkie said, but put -norestrictions in the text file instead. Seems to be an issue with the restrictions Rockstar implemented to prevent you from over-doing the graphics options.

im right with you, but all you can really do is wait untill valve or rockstar comes up with a fix.

I think Epic will just have to wait till GTA Five because Its been like 4 years scince Gta iv came out, I don't think they'll bother to fix it now.
