So, I still can't get Grand Theft Auto 4 to launch in my Steam library. Im guessing its because I am using Windows 7 Ultimate instead of Windows XP, or does that even matter? The reason I am asking is because an error message continues to pop up informing me that I need a Service Pack 3 in order to launch the game. From what i've read, Service Pack is unavailable for Windows 7. So, is there any possible way to convert, switch or change Windows 7 to Windows XP so I can download the necessary requirement (Service Pack 3) in order to get this game to launch. This may be a stupid question, but you can't get any where in life if you don't ask right? I will be most grateful if any one can answer this question.

Make sure your Windows 7 is fully up to date with Windows Update.

If it is, check to make sure you aren't launching Steam or Grand Theft Auto IV in compatibility mode.

Right Click "GTAIV.exe" and select "Properties". Select "Compatibility tab and Untick the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and you are good to go

When it says that Service Pack 3 is required and you have wibdow 7, it means your gta 4 has not been updated. Try the manual upgrade here http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/20477263-updated-7-30-12-problems-logging-into-social-club-to-launch-gta-iv-for-pc
