help me! my gta iv keeps crashing
Hi! My gta iv keeps crashing all the time and i dont know why?! When i start the game and i go to play mp or single player i can play them for 5-20 minutes and then gta crashes. My gta iv runs on default settings, everything is on high accept night shadows are off. My computer specs are nvidia gtx 670 and processor is amd fx-6200 six-core. I dont know why this game keeps crashing, my computer is new and i think my specs are really good and should run gta iv. I dont have any problems with any other new games. My computer runs bioshock infinite, bf3 and many more new games on ultra settings and they dont have crashed at all. I dont know why this game keeps crashing, but i hope someone can help me maybe to fix this problem.

Maybe it is your ram. Don't mix the ram. Get the kits.

What kits?

Maybe you have installed some mods or something like that. I had few issues with that either.. When I had installed few mods and I went out from Bohan or I played more than 5 minutes, it crashed. So I just simple reinstall the game and everything was okay then..

Also you'd tell us the error message.

I dont have install any mods in game. Also when the gta crashes, error message is: GTA IV is not responding

I cant get the game to run normally muchless with mods

Run the game as administrator.
Kaldire♥TexMurphy♥ Apr 25, 2013 @ 2:36pm
lol
oh not for me for him

well he should be .. admin.
if not
running as admin in steam is fruitless..
just fyi

same with compat mode
unless of course you skip steam and just run the game offline with the exe in compat mode then yea admin

but to get the game to run better? admin doesnt work.. lol

The same thing is happening to me but I have many mods installed, not huge mods but car mods, but anyways I know if you have cars set to replace the noose cars and FIB car it crashes, the same error your getting or it might be that some files are missing (that was my last crash issue) like when you change the textures of the game in anyway such as blood or more traffic is what I mean, that was the reason why mine was crashing every now and then also same error (GTA IV is not responding) so I would just suggest verifying the game cache to see if any files are missing. I believe I have the same computer as you by the way, I hope this helps you.
