Gta IV has stopped working [HELP!]

Okay so, I have this problem... when I start GTA IV I get to the windows live login. Then it proceeds as normal and continues so I can choose between EFLC or just normal GTA IV. I choose gta iv and press start. Then the normal loading screen comes up and finally when the text saying which "chapter" im on it just automatically quits and a message saying "GTA IV has stopped working..." WHAT DO I DO!?! I have tried to delete local files and wipe it completely from Steam, but when i re-install it I get the exact same message... does it has something with a mod I tried to install perhaps?

Anyways, just help me!

it seems like you have corrupted save, try starting new game

And how do I do that? When I press start it goes directly to the loading screen... :|

delete your previous saved game from your Documents>Rockstar Games>GTA IV folder

Now that's really weird... because in that folder I only have 2 folders called User Music and Videos. O.o

type in %appdata% and look around there if you dont see it in the rockstar games folder in your documents

I found it! So what do I do? Delete all the files that are there? I went in to savegames and found 2 folders. user_(alot of random numbers) and user_invalid. Inside both of them there are this one file called "Controlmap.dat", but in the first one there are some called SGT(numbers) ...
