Midnight Club II

Midnight Club II

This game needs more love
Somehow I always come back to this game for some arcade-y fun. This game is so not serious and the sense of speed is really intense. Fun game in my opinion. New MC doesn't hold up :\

Yeah, i'm pleasantly surprised by this one too. It IS old but it's worth trying.
Indeed. Unlike many racing games, this game is just fun.
No unnecessary realism or customization. Just go breakneck fast in pretty cool cars in awesome locations.
I guess its cool for a free game that can run on a low end computer......
You probably didn't play it back when it first came out and don't have all this nostalgia for it XD

It is a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game by modern standards, but I think it's just more fun than most.
I loved this game as a kid, glad it's on Steam. ALL MY NOSTALGIA.

^EXACTLY
I know it can run on Win 7-64 but can someone verify if it runs well on nVidia cards? (and if you don't mind to tell which card(s) you're using if you're using nVidia?

**Don't imagine anyone knows or has tried to play this game using a racing wheel for PC's? I love racing games and I have a wheel I'm itching to try out, more in the mood for an arcadey type racer and hoping this one works on my PC and wheel. ** :ggechamp: :synicle:

It's not too bad price wise. Take a risk!

When it came out I was blown away how nice it was, and fun as hell. It probably still holds true today.
I love this game and hate it at the same time, lol same way I did when it came out over a decade ago on the PS2 and I played the whole thing. Problem is that too many of the races, especially the later Tokyo races and most of the WorldChamp Savo races are just way too difficult. Yeah, I always ed up beating them...eventually, but usually long after they stop being fun for me.

Then again, some gamers are so incredibly skilled that the races I am having trouble with are easy-peasy to them, so I probably shouldn't complain too much. I just bought this a week or two ago on Steam for the nostalgia, and am up to the second Wold Champion race in France.

Man the AI cars drive FAAAAST! lol One little mistake and it's Restart City for me! Oh well, rant over, I am back to trying to beat this race so I can get to the two in LA. :)
I played the game for the first time as a kid on keyboard. It was tough as hell to beat it. I've beaten it a few times since but recently tried it with a buddy's borrowed controller. So much easier. I blazed through most races first or second try. Some werre still tough as nails though.

edit: Likely helping is my more mature choice in cars. Often not picking one with most top speed, like i did as a kid

I hear you. I think that a lot of the difficulty in this game, to be honest, comes from the fact that, in reality, it is a very short game, Even with all the trouble I have with beating many of these races, I am on the third World Champ race a week after buying the game. Honestly, had I not been stuck on the second Savo World Champ race in Tokyo for like two days and the first almst as long, I would probbaly have been done with the game in onlya few days.

I think that's one of the many reasons I love Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix. Because the game is just much, much, much easier and feels like the races are meant to be more fun than difficult for most gamers, not just the elite. Also, I noticed that there are an unbelievable amount of races and events in MC3, much more than MC2, which is probably why Rockstar made MC2 so much more difficult. If the races in MC2 were as easy as the ones in MC3, you could probably fly through the game in a long day.

This game hold a special place as it was my first MC. You're probably right. It's def a game that the casual dude-bro won't like due to difficulty. I find it overall quite satisfying when i beat a tough race. (Though it is much easier now. e.g. Get Saikou XS early, crap all over rest of tokyo)
The Savo races in Tokoy are awesome.

Too bad Rockstar kinda killed the MC series :squirtmeh:
