How do change the Resolution to 1920x1080?
Just bought GTA SA on Greenmangaming for $3.00. The Game is Version 3, but it seems the highest resolution you can pick is 1440x900. and yes my video card and monitor does support 1920x1080

You have to downgrade to version 1.1

If you wanna play in true 1080p, you gotta download these:

http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/download.php?f=31020
First off copy the SA downgrade files to the SA directory, let everything overwrite. Click to run the install.bat file and let it downgrade, it might ask you to press Y (to continue) or N (to end it). Press Y each time you're given the chance. iirc it doesn't close out by itself at the end so you have to do that yourself. Now copy the files and folders from the ASI loader into the SA directory, let it overwrite. Now copy the 1080p patch and paste it right into the SA directory. Launch the game, try seeing if it works. If it crashes, then move it to the "scripts" folder.

This seems entirely assinine. You have to DOWNgrade a game, in order to use a better feature? How does that make sense. :| Wouldn't you lose a ton of other things that they patched? Also, isn't there an ini file that can be tweaked, or something?

Does playing it in 1920x1080 actually make that much of a difference? It's a pretty old game. The highest resolution they let you choose it's pretty nice.

@Metalbreak. Steam version has another exe name. Retail version is named "gta_sa.exe" and Steam version is named "gta-sa.exe". Easiest way is, after you have installed the downgrader copy the gta_sa.exe and paste it in the same folder. Rename it then to gta-sa.exe. You need to do this because Steam always wants to start from the gta-sa.exe and not from gta_sa.exe. It also has a positive side effect. Steam will count your single player time with version 1.0. :D
