Mouse isn't working too well in GTA SA

Pretty frustrated, the mouse isn't moving the camera around and the left click isnt fireing or punching. How to fix?

Happens from time to time for me. A quick fix is to escape into the menu and go straight back into the game until your mouse works.

Buy a game pad, I've found missions with flying such as Zero's storyline are much less frustrating.
