Have fun!
You don't need to downgrade. Use Punished Snake's link. http://hmvartak.freeiz.com/SCMConverter/conv.htm It totally workes
I've downgraded and after i putted gta_sa to my directory it still crashes after i try to open my old save :/
You need to use an up-to-date downgrader since San Andreas was recently updated.
V3 - downgrades to the previous Steam version before the recent 2 patches (includes the cut songs).
V1 - further downgrades to a full original retail copy and allows for you to use any mod(s).
Links to both downgraders can be found in the link below: http://steamcommunity.com/app/12120/discussions/0/34096318964479523/
Used the V3 and V1 got the ASI Loader now game starts a new game, not loads the save :/
Forgot to say you need to convert your save game with this easy, nifty tool:

Hope it all works out from here :)
Oh, right. Glad you got it working :)
