That doesn't work with Win8 as they removed the "disable visual themes" option... You can still go in the task manager and set the affinity to 1 core though, although I haven't tried playing it again after I closed it so now sure if it saves that setting or if you need to do it every time you play. Even when I do that though it still doesn't work in the menus half the time (although seems to always work for mouse-look).

Mods please sticky this reply. There are too many fixes out there that do not work completely

To fix the mouse for windows 7 and windows 8 you need to do 2 things.

Set compatibility mode to Win98/Me - this sets cpu affinity to only 1 cpu

AND

download dinput8.dll and place it in the same directory as the gta-vc.exe app

The compatibility tab isn't there when I right click and go to properties...any ideas?

Setting the affinity worked fine, did that and set compatibility mode for VistaSP2.
