Petition for Rockstar Games to Bring Games to Linux
I'm currently running a petition on for Rockstar Games to bring their games over to the Linux platform. Any Linux users who like GTA should take a look at this.

It would be great to bring this classic to Linux but I highly doubt a petition would have any amount of affect with Rockstar (Not that R* doesn't care or anything) it's just that I highly doubt Rockstar has the time to be bothered to port Vice City onto Linux, since GTA 5 and Agent is being developed and using other R* companies as well with the project/game.

Also, I used to have Ubuntu 2 years ago and I used WINE on Vice City and it worked absolutely fine with no bugs and decent amount of fps (30+)

Yes. I and many others want Red Dead Redemtion and GTA V for PC, but the said they never port the first one (despite it uses the RAGE engine from GTA IV, wich is already proted) and say they are not sure if the make GTA V available for PC (a ka a Windows version).

If there would be any chance they rather port it to Linux I would be happy about it. I have nothing against dual boot ;-)

Well a Linux Port wouldn't be too difficult. They have already ported to Android which uses OpenGL ES (OpenGL is the Graphics API Linux uses and OpenGL ES is OpenGL for embedded systems like a phone). Also Android is built on top of the Linux kernel. A port from Android to Linux would require some work but it wouldn't be too difficult and it would be worth the money.

Why is rockstar going to care about linux when they don't even care about PC anymore even though that is what made them hit the big time.

Fellow Take 2 subsidiary Firaxis is busy with ports of its first-tier games (Civ V, XCOM) to Linux/SteamOS. It's possible T2 as a whole has decided to support Linux - which could mean GTAV may, indeed, be coming. Wait and see.
