For some reason the mouse buttons dont work (as well as the scroller). Sometimes i can get the mouse to work in the menus, but as soon as it goes back to the game i cant aim or change weapons. anybody know a fix?

I had this problem and this is how I fixed it in windows 7.

1: Right click on GTA VC name in you games list
2: Select local files tab
3: Browse local files
4: right click on gta-vc.exe and select properties.
5: Select compatability tab
6: Select Windows XP (Service pack 3) as your compatability mode
7: Select Disable visual themes in the settings (there will be a check box for this).

Your mouse should work now.

It's not a compability issue, it's because gema running on more than one core. You should set cpu affinity of process gta_vc.exe to a single core, use process lasso.

I had this same problem. Once I go to the menu if I use the mouse to click resume to get me back in game I will have the mouse available then. If I hit escape to get back in the game then sometimes the mouse doesn't work. This worked for me every almost every time.
