Good program for controller?

I'm trying to use my controller but it doesn't work, there's any good program for my xbox 360 controller to work? trying to do Demolition Man and it's getting really annoying. I'm well aware that the mission is not needed to complete the game but I still want to do it, if someone could tell me I would really appreciate it.
