Targeting?

I think I remember the PS2 version let you target people with your guns, but I can't do it, even with the keyboard or the mouse. I'm using a Logitch F310 gamepad on Windows 7 32-bit.

Anyone got a solution?

What do you mean by target? Aiming down the sight? If so, then that's something that you can't do.

I thought you could press a button and the target would centre on nearby people or cars. There's an option called 'target' in the controller config but it has no effect in game.

Maybe I misremembered or it was from a later GTA game.

Hey, I think I figured it out. That control works for AK47, M16, sniper rifle and rocket launcher. Just played vice city and figured it's the same in GTA 3.

if you're using the ginput mod then it's RB to aim at people

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed. I think there wasn't a targeting graphic on the original console version, but it does the job just as well. Maybe it was enabled with a cheat code on the PS2?

I don't remember . But i think the target graphics looked different

There's an option under the control settings to switch between the pc's manual aiming and the ps2 auto aiming labbled 'standard mode'. Switching it to 'classic mode' should give you
the classic ps2 autoaim function you're looking for.

No, I had already tried that and it didn't work for me. Maybe it's something to do with my controller driver. Anyway, I've got the targeting working with the ginput mod: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=24272
