RO vs. RO2

I think RO is superior to RO2, because of smoother gameplay, better balance, better maps ... One thing i like in RO2, the bullet drop.

Not to much people, only at night you can find few full servers, i love the 50 player russian server, that is the best. And it has a great mod, Darkest Hour. DH has the same situation, after 7 PM there are few full servers. This game still worth every penny.

yeah RO, more vehicles and weapons, gun sway. i think when it comes to the lack of vehicles and stuff in RO2 i think you have to respect the fact that RO2 is based around only stalingrad and i think we all know the situation in stalingrad.

I got this game mainly so that i can unlock a character from killing floor, but i didnt realize it would be really fun playing it i got a little hooked on it. I also liked that you could peek around the corners but just dont do it for more than a split second or you will get shot in the face from a snipers bullet....yep i learned that the hard way.

Red Orchestra 2 most certainly is the better version graphically, although some believe that it is what is in the game rather than how it looks that counts. As a person who has seen RO2 progress; I feel fairly conifdent that I can say that I saw it go from just the bones to something with a bit more meat on it - but we are far from finished yet. There are glitches and lag like no tomorrow, but this is expected from a company that isn't a huge AAA game making machine. I think they both stand out for what they do (or did) and this gives us the choce to choose what we want.

Indeed, I can argue on the vechiles front but not on the gunsway. As we all know, Stalingrad's vechiles were mainly on the stéppe that was German controlled (due to their mastery at airstrikes, tank warfare and infantry movements) whilst the crowded and battered streets were made impossible for a tank to get through. The Russian counter on the stéppe took Paulus completly by surprise. This grating battle would have worn the soviet army out completly had Germany won, but it was the lack of communication and hesitations that lost them the war.

(for more info, I strongly suggest buying the book "20th Century battlefields" by Peter and Dan Snow due to its insightful accounts of Stalingrad and many other famous military clashes)

RO2 has some good ideas that would be neat in the original RO, but it's overwhelmed by all other sh**.
Plus it's overbloomed.

I have to say I've been playing RO1 more often than RO2 lately because im really into big tank maps atm. Love Arad, and the Panther. Can't for more Tanks in RO2!

RO was a masterpiece of its time, RO2 a failed attempt to create a COD tripwire style.
