People please come back to Red Orchestra 1
RO1 is much more fun. Graphics of course not up to date since it was release 7 years ago but if you are sick of RO2 come back to RO1... remember the good old days this game is still worth it.

It depends on when you plays...
(days, hours...)

Take in account there are a lot of European players and holidays are coming.

When i wrote "a lot", I means "a important proportion of"

Yeah! I've had some very awesome battles lately. Sadly though, there are not enough players around to fill out more than a few servers.

Population of RO1 is such that you can never find a 40+ person server these days... Ever, as far as I know.

DH still has a good population but only for several hours a day.

This game needs to be made FREE, RIGHT NOW. Just give us an ad. At least bundle it with Killing Floor, RO2 and Rising Storm! Give it to those who bought those games retroactively and we'll have a big population overnight!

I don't think making the game free will be enough to attract new people.

Last promo attracted some newcomers,
BUT most of them gave up, even if some of us managed to welcome them & offered to teach them some tricks

Hell yes making it free would attract new people. Look at TF2, it's not just popular because of all the hats, it's because it's a full, rich game that is absolutley free. RO+DH are far richer, and if they were free then everyone would hop in.

Think of all the people who browse the free games section on Steam. Think of all the F2p junk in there, and some cool but very aged titles like Shadowarrior, and think how a great, modern title like RO+DH would stand out immediately.

And not to go off topic, but you guys should pick up Hotline Miami, it was a singular experience.

I agree, they should make it f2p, alot of people are looking for such a game but dont know it even exists and even if they do find it they dont want to buy it since its pretty old and they figure noone plays it anymore.

I bought this game awhile ago, but only started playing it recently (so I'm still playing the "training" mode). I do love the anti-tank rifles! I can't decide whether I like the Mosin Nagant or the semi-auto rifle better.

Bolt action or semi auto..

It depends of situations.
For close quarter and fast action, semi-auto.

If you have time to fight ennemies 1 by one or 2 by 2, bolt is OK.

In all cases, train hipshooting.
(semi auto "move" more with recoil than bolt-action, especially G43)

It seems like the sights are easier to line up on the bolt action, compared to the semi-auto, but the ammo capacity is a major issue. Reloading after every 5 shots sucks (especially in areas of heavy fighting). I think if the bolt action had a 10 round capacity, I'd be happy with that on almost all occasions.

this is really good game but the poupolation here are low/..

A 10 round bolt-action rifle?

Take the Lee Enfield, on Darkest Hour or Mare Nostrum mods.
(it also re-arm quicker than Kar98 & MN serie rifles)

Only jumped into Steam for RO, so do I see right that RO hasn't a demo/Trial but guest passes that allow a "tour" for some days?
If so, does anyone have a pass for free?
