Opinions Pros and Cons
Hello everyone.
I was wondering if someone could share few opinions about this game.
Whats good and whats bad about it.
Im really curious how does this game work for everyone :)

The game gets old.
It is a semi-realist game with some arcade handlings (see my tutorial about glitches).

As a beginner better play on low or medium servers (ex : 12 to 20 players) because small urban maps are not designed to stay balanced with more players. Better to keep big maps for big servers.

Weapon handling : very special but we learn it and finally gets intuitive.
In this game, we don't unlock weapons upgrade, we develop skill !!!

Neutral points :
>Red Orchestra objective is capturing territories.
>To focus on teamplay, roles are divided into classes : tankists are able to use tanks, MG gunners can replace MG cannon while overheating, Squad Leaders can set artillerie & got more capture power.

Good points :
>Variety of vanilla tanks & weapons
>With the standard basic rifles we can almost snipe in maps with low or no fog, taking bullet drop in account.
>Well used, each weapon can be used as a single shot = lethal shot.
(in general, we spray with SMG and pistols... so... hehehe)

-Ballistics : we notice it especially with tanks.
By changing ammo & tank, we notice trajectory changes.
-Grenade control
-Each wall, debris, stone, window... can be used to stabilize our gun
-Good netcode : RO1 contains a lag compensation system

>Nice variety of standard and custom maps
>Plus free mods : standalone conversions as Darkest Hour & Mare Nostrum, other such as Carpathian Crosses & Revenge of the Turul, plus special tank maps (add new models), sniper custoù maps and fun maps (sometimes adapted from other games : CoD, Medal of Honor, Counter-Strike...).

Game inside the game :
Being a good long range shooter or a tank hunter (with anti-tank rifle) is a real challenge.
Some specialize in assault, other in tanking.
Knowing what are the quickest paths is aslo useful as squad leader both to capture, defend and set artillery strikes.

About unrealistics aspects :
>A glass bottle can almost protect you from a grenade blow.
>In the same way, a small rock can block totally your vehicle even if it is a Panther.
>Glitches (quick reloading bolt action snipers, etc...)

Today's negative claims :
>No real solo mode
>Less active players than a current AAA game recently released
>Actual players may feel graphics updated. But for a UT 2003-2004 mod it's not bad.
>Some things look rigid (like : can't aim or run while getting up from prone position, no instant weapon switch, low breathe while running, recoil when low breathing...)
>Gap level between old players who got skill, especially the few who use glitches & dirty tactics to win rather than integrating / helping / training newbies.

Thank you Nox. That was a pretty nice review there heh. Seems legit to me. I guess there is only one way to really find out heh.

Can someone tell me how not to get ♥♥♥♥ing shot in this game? I would be prone and i get randomly shot from past the mist, and its not just once, its constantly.

I partially answered you in your other topic.
If you hide into smoke, a part of yourself can possibly appears (a leg, the bayonet, ect..) out of the cloud, but you are still unable to see around.
