You totally invalidated my grind schematic write-ups with this. Putting me out of a job here Neox! Jokes aside, good work! Might want to mention that it only works on fresh, newly created characters.

I did, but for that you have to read the ingame descriptions :-P

Does this mean that you have more levels on average? Where you'd be level 5, you'd be what with your mod? 5? 10?

With that said, what is the xp formula? I noticed in the gameplay.txt config that it contains a multiplier and an exponent, what's up with that?

yes you mostly have like double the level compared to the vanilla game.

This is not the subject of this topic or mod. Please create a new thread for that.

You finally get some extra ability points!

I tested Neox's mod for FG, generally double the level but this is dependant on how the XP formula works. Recommendable mod for those that enjoy some extra points at the start and overall progression throughout the game (example: you end up at level 9 after the tutorial section, level 12 at reaching the Temple etc) and ultimately at or thereabouts the level cap (50) at endgame without too much grinding, just like he says.

This will help. It reminds me of the retarded SF2 system ; once I downloaded AngelTrump's mod that allowed you to skip the retarded 2:1 system(where you had to put points into skills you didn't want to), the game took off.

Thank you NeoX. Naturally, I'd help myself, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Can't change them and won't spend time wasting on that. Give back config folder!

If I could suggest one more thing? Revision of Difficulty System. Currently "normal" gives -15 to Resists and that just isn't "normal" under any circumstance. Perhaps changing that to +15 / 0 / -15 / -30 and -20 / 0 / +20 / +30 (per difficulty: easy / normal / hard / circle and former is your resistance and the latter enemy resistance). I'd change this myself but I CAN'T.

edit: Level 9 after tutorial is just what I'm talking about! No more wasting time doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with things like Akrog Groundsplitter. Perfect, this is JUST what I'd do.

.. Retarded?

Ignoring that, time spend QQ'ing on forums about it would've been better invested in googling a 'how to', considering it only takes 30 minutes to learn and modify you'd have days to spare. Glad we are able and allowed to do this in this game.

There's a mod already for adding +15 resistance across the board to your characters compared to normal. It's called switching to easy.

No, -15 is NOT "normal" and it won't EVER be "normal". In almost every game, that is called "hard" and for a bloody good reason! Getting extra resists is more in line with "easy", just having resists on par with enemy is EXACTLY the definition of "normal" difficulty!

Regardless, it'd seem they have hidden them within .paks. Which is...ok, why? Just so you could say "I have this modding suite"? Just...yeah, like I said, hostage to someone's aspiration. It's not like random players will even know how to edit gameplay.txt without help, let alone modify / extract etc .paks. You're not doing much except promoting your modding suite. >.<

It's a perspective on numbers, you are not making sense with this outside of some weird interpretation of what your 'Normal' is. It's not your Normal, it's the games Normal. Same applies to your latter remark (..'Hostage'?): changing some text in a config is also modding.

Don't want to further derail from OP's fine work. Play on easy if you want to offset the resistance modifier, or put in a request(/open thread) for 'Very Easy' if that suits you more.

I don't care for some stupid outer imposed rule system(if it's broken, it needs fixin). Think for yourself and ask yourself "what is more balanced: 0 / 0 or -15 / 0?". It's not rocket science, it's more of a common sense. Devs are the ones who caused this whole crap when they redefined "normal" in SH. It's just that I re-redefined it. ♥♥♥♥ it all!

But yeah, let's not go there. Good job NeoX! Thank you.

Nice mod. Though my way would've been more acceptable and balanced in the end, if more of a hackjob as well.

Again, thank you very much!

thank you for this!

one question: does this only affect the ability points, or also the atribute points? (STR, WILL, etc.) I mean, if you get faster levels, you also get the attribute points?

Yup. The cap and scaling regarding levels is adjusted, so that means the normal formula applies (1LV/1 Ability point, 2LV/1 Attribute point).
