Game Save corrupted? How do I fix this?

Just decided to boot up for the first time in a week and randomly got a 'your game save data appears to be corrupt' and now its just starting from the beginning again... This is absolutely frustrating as hell, how can I remedy this situation?

Not sure if there's been a patch I didn't notice and some issue there, but no way is having to start from scratch going to work, any recommendations?
