frame rate issues
when i start playing in the menu it runs fine but the thing i dont get is why it slows down when i do a race or something well rallycross in most to every case. like with the buggies or big rigs and modified.... i have set the Gfx quality to default at High...... i have a slowdown ONLY when i do a race with other AI drivers not when by my self my specs are......

AMD fx 6100 x6 core @ 3.8 ghz CPU
GTX 780 3gb GPU
16 gb ram @ 1600 mhz
and only sofware sound. no hardware sound card

and i seem to get most preformance only when sound quality is at its lowest and even than it lags a bit

Probably related to your CPU is some way, or your soundcard. Anyway, I see you have a 6 core CPU and they're not really well supported (especially in DiRT).
Try this, it works for 8 core CPUs (like i7s):
-Open DiRT's install folder (Steam\SteamApps\common\DiRT)
-Go inside the 'system' folder, delete 'WorkerMap8Core.xml' and replace it with a copy of 'WorkerMap4Core.xml'.

Try to run the game again. If it didn't help, try this:
-Inside the 'system' folder make a copy of 'WorkerMap4Core.xml' and rename it to 'WorkerMap6Core.xml'.

I'm pretty confident this will help, but if it doesn't you can still try to disable all soundcards, launch the game in safemode (I believe it's '-safemode'), it may help.

Feel free to ask any other questions

Turn "reflections" down to low. That helped me a lot.

i went into the system folder for dirt and i have Worker Map 2 Core, 4 Core and 8 Core and tryed to copy in the WorkerMap6Core thing and it wont change the framerate, but thanks though

well i tweaked the worker map 8 core to work as a 6 core and deleted the fake copy and now the game has a great increase :D

Interesting, as WorkerMap8Core is well known not to work properly. Everyone with an i7 processor would randomly crash because of it.

Anyway, anything else than the default setting should definitely improve performance, as the game would fall back to the 1 core CPU settings without a 6 core setting. I'm surprised using the WorkerMap4Core didn't help, but who knows what can happen in a CPU when its number of cores doesn't even follow the basic computing rule of the power of twos ;)

Great to see that you can now play, have fun with this awesome game!
