Speed running challenge
Ok, so here's the challenge.
You have to do a speed run and you get to pick any character and 5 items to start with. (Items you start with don't count). The shovel isn't allowed, and 1 item has to be a spacebar item.
Who would you start with and what items would you pick?
Also explain why.

Ok so here's my choice: Mom's knife + polyphemus for massive damage. The wafer + the Habit for defense. Spacebar item: Crystal ball (map + compass + health regen). Character blue baby for polaroid interaction and deals with devil.

Ok. I'd choose Judas. The trincket'd be safety cap. Passive itens: Lucky Foot. Activation iten: A Pony. Also, I'd give him a +1hp item and a green mushroom.

Does that make you that strong? You have some decent damage, flying and good pills but that seems to be it.

I thought about getting my dmg, speed, range and hp from the pills and treasures I'd find on my way, because Lucky Foot would assure I'd get many itens since the beggining, and safety cap would convert many to (good) pills. But sure, it's very far from the strongest set one could make for a speed run. I would be in disadvantage in the beginning, but I'd be trusting lucky to drop decent stuff on my way.

cain, epic fetus, spirit of the night, compass, map, the nail. surely that would be a great way to whizz through the game xD

Yeah, but you might be better off with a diffrent flying item. I don't think the spectral tears are any good. Maybe holy grail

Well, you're still pretty early in the game. But you passed your first hurdle already. Good luck with the rest of the game

Yes, my main trouble was to understand the foes. Now I can go along. But I don't intend to make 100% of the game, it's very difficult. Thanks! VVVVVV's great, btw :)

I think he's just awnsering to my avatar. And yeah VVVVVV is a great game. I love the mechanic and how it's used to the fullest and the music is awesome.

hey ey! I choose Magdaeine, because she has more heart containers. Tricket: The Tick, for easly kill bosses. Passive: Blood Bag, for my speed and one more heart container; Dead dove, for flying and spectral tears; Mom's Purse for carrying Isaac's Fork too.

Odd choice. Ok you'll have tons of health but I don't think it will make the rooms go by any faster. Espicially if you don't even know where to go to.
Besides I wouldn't really go for trinkets...

I'd pick Magdalene (starts with 4 hearts, plus i'm best as her). spacebar would be yum heart. my passives would be the Habit, the pentagram, homing tears and priercing tears. ive had a run like that and i destroyed everything in my path with no problems. I also had the tick as my trinket, but ill leave that out
