I bought The Binding Of Isaac on October 30th, 2012 (without the DLC because a lot of players said that you should play the pre-DLC version for a good while first before you buy the DLC). I then bought the DLC on December 20th, 2012 (I backed up the pre-DLC version first being that it's convenient to have both versions and to be able to play whichever one you want at any given time. Although if you have the current DLC version and you want to get the pre-DLC version back so that you can choose between both, you can look here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/113200/discussions/0/828925849138118898/

). After 68 deaths and 18 total hours of playing so far, I finally defeated The Mom with the character Magdaiene. I was playing the pre-DLC version (which is considered by many players to be easier than the DLC version).
The first time I got to The Mom was while playing the DLC version with Magdaiene. Sadly I had very little health and died the first time. The second time I got to The Mom was today with the pre-DLC version. Luckily this time, I had a good amount of health. I had previously looked at The Binding Of Isaac Wiki: http://bindingofisaac.wikia.com/wiki/The_Binding_of_Isaac_Wiki
. And at YouTube videos of The Mom battle to see what I was in for. Probably the ironic thing is that the way that The Mom died in our battle was that she killed herself by stomping on her eye. The Epilogue ending and the credits were nice.
Now I am aware that the very first time that you defeat The Mom is not the real ending. It unlocks more floors and new bosses to experience. So even though there is more to see and do, I am so glad to have FINALLY defeated The Mom's first form and see the first ending. Remember how good you felt when you first defeated The Mom's first form? I still regard The Binding Of Isaac as a very tough game, although a likable one at least
