Any tips for a new Binding player?
I have just bought the game, and I am loving it a lot! But I don't know much about the game besides the obvious point and shoot. Any tips, links, or advice?

Prepare your ♥♥♥♥
Seriously, you're gonna die. And die. And cry. Then die again over and over.
Most importantly, have fun! :)

Best piece of advice anyone can give you - http://bindingofisaac.wikia.com/wiki/The_Binding_of_Isaac_Wiki
Most notable pages to use while playing are Items, Trinkets and Tarot Cards

Also do you have the wrath of the lamb dlc?

No. I wasn't sure if I should have gotten it or not. Should I get it right away?

No no no
It makes the game harder. Better and cooler, but harder
Wait for a bit before getting it, hell, best thing to say is wait for it to go on sale. It's good but totally game-changing so no point in getting it straight away

No worries! This is exactly why I subscribe to forums of games I've done at least one playthrough of :)

haha. You looked the type to have done quite a few playthroughs. (I am a profile stalker >:D)

If you blast a wall at the very middle you may find a secret room with either money or a cool item. If you have enough bombs to spare try to "make a guess". To detect them, look for simetries or gaps between U's,C's and O's on the map (specially near the shops and treasure rooms)

Advice of the creator Edmund McMillen : Don't ruin the magic of discovering thing by yourself

With over a hundred hours in isaac my best tip for you would be to not get hit ;)
But seriously take your time my old runs would go for over an hour, but by taking my time and focusing on dodging I was able to reliably beat the game. Most devil deals are not worth it (especially for a player that is not experienced in the game) If you see blue rocks with an 'X' on them, blow them up and you may get a damage up/soul hearts aswell as keys and bombs. Just wondering, have you defeated the depths II boss yet?

Dodge, try to dodge every damn thing, you have to.

Don't run at things like rambo and you should be fine.
