Monaco

Fans of Payday: The Heist?
I looooooove Payday: The Heist along with Monaco, and while the level editor isn't out yet, I've tossed around the idea of remaing the Payday heists into Monaco levels. Would you guys be interested in playing these levels or even helping make them?

I'd be down for helping with that. The only thing that springs to mind is that Payday maps were quit claustrophobic, whereas Monaco tends to be broad maps.

What we may have to do is take the existing Payday map/building, but change the heist enough to turn it into a fun Monaco map.

For example, think of the Safehouse map. The stairwells are all so close, and with such a small amount of real estate. We'd have to "block off" certain stairs or fire escape ladders, as well as expand the scale of the rooms to enable more action.

The diamond heist would be a fun Monaco map, though. That map was huge.

Yes, I agree, I think Diamond Heist and First World Bank would work the best. I was sketching out First World Bank as a Monaco map during school today. Each objective in Payday could be a trophy to collect in Monaco. We'd have to put in lasers and other traps. Or we could take the base form of First World Bank and Diamond Heist add our own objectives amd then add a couple rooms that we came up with ourselves (although Diamond Heist wouldn't need any additions, considering it has 4 floor and is quite big).

I WILL TOTALLY HELP! I know how to make First World bank into a Monaco-type map, simply making the drill a locked door and the thermite burning area a stairwell, blocked by another locked door. maybe even an event where some machine-gun guys will come after you steal the cas. I'm an absolute DIE HARD MONACO AND PAYDAY FAN, I will totally help you, bro.

We could all work together, I could come up with a base, post it somewhere and let anyone who wants to help add to it. Then we can just keep making back and forth exchanges until it's finished, and when it's finally done, it can go on Steam Workshop.

I'm glad people are giving positive feedback for this idea, hopefully we can create something that will make both Pocketwatch and Overkill proud:)

I really hope some people out there make epic campaigns. Steam workshop can bundle items together so you can create a collection of maps and call that a campaign. We actually plan on doing contests with cash prizes for the best maps, and we can feature those maps in the game with leaderboards.

I love Payday: The Heist, but the thing that bothers me about it is that the animations and shooting are quite wanky. I would play the same levels on Monaco though!
