Worth it?
I had always some eyes on Monaco. I am looking for new co-op games. Payday 2 is doing fine so far but I need a more relaxing, less FPS-ish alternative. There is Torchlight 2 but I don't like the feeling of joining games from lobbies that already might be way ahead of me, or in which people rush ahead and kill and loot without you (it's a very messy/chaotic game too). Warframe was very disappointing for these reasons too. How is Monaco? Is the co-op consisting of more than killing/rushing things? Is the community decent? How is the population, are there enough people playing it? Would you guys buy it again had you known it before?

I would like to know if it is worth it too. I wanna get it when I have a chance.

To the OP, get Torchlight II and Monaco; in TL2 each person has their own unique loot on screen so that nobody gets stuff stolen and everyone gets to enjoy the drops, and the server list filters out people who are ahead of you (although you can remove that filter). They are both VERY FUN

The coop is moslty run and gun, with most peopplle just rushing ahead. Also the game is very repetitive, but if you have some people to play and coordinate with, then it can be more fun. Also the graphics style makes things harder to identify. Id wait for better sale but its up to you

I don't get how people can come together and buy things on steam, but I do want this game a lot.

people send 1 person money and that person buys the 4pack. then gifts it to the other guys.

One of the best co-ops of all time.

Not worth it based on lack of support from the developer. I first got the game and reported an issue with not being able to join a multiplayer lobby, the game would crash. Other users on the forums reported the same error. When I contacted the developer, they ONLY thing they said was to uninstall skype (lol? didn't even have skype installed). When I advised them of this, they no longer replied. They also never responded to my request for a refund as a result. Maybe the issue is fixed now, but I refuse to play this game out of principal because I don't want to advertise a game that was broken and had no developer support to my steam friends.

I've had this game since launch and only have 8.5 hours played on it, and that's virually all idol time just to farm the trading cards. Buyer beware.

This game is well worth it. Sure it takes some getting used to with the scenery being so confusing for first-timers, but once you get the hang of it (maybe 2 hours or so) the game is amazing.

Of course, every so often in matchmaking with random people, you will get those who just run ahead, or run off and die somewhere, but that happens in every game. In my experience, more than half the community is friendly and helpful during heists.

It also comes with a very well made Map-Creator, which I have spent days on :D

All in all, I give it:
Single-Player: 7/10
Multi-Player: 8.5/10
Map creator: 8/10

I find a good tool to judge how worth a game is by how many hours of enjoyable play you get out of it, and I have gotten over 100 hours of fun out of this game.

Well worth every penny.

Probably the most narrow-minded approach to an issue I've ever seen. The Devs are great, and were more likely than not just busy with more pressing matters. Also, Steam is in charge of refunds, not the devs. Give the game another chance, and if you can get past your stubborn attitude, I guarantee you'll enjoy it.

But remember, NO developer can respond to everyone who has an issue.

I was extremely disappointed with Warframe where people would constantly rush ahead and leave each other behind. Not much "co-op" to that. I am very disappointed by numerous games that are labeled "co-op" these days because their co-op often only consists of attacking roughly the same hordes of enemies with no real interaction or actual co-operation between the players. Do the game mechanics in Monaco actually require the players to interact, to co-operate? Because it sounds they don't. There is a singleplayer, apparently, and that often means the game mechanics allow skilled players to get along alone too. I am very much against this idea and might not grab the game during the current sale for that. I don't want to depend on my friends to have the game and be online too, and I like to meet new people. If the game mechanics allow selfish lonewulfs to go their way it might be the wrong kind of "co-op" game for me to begin with.
