Downloading Steam Cloud Saves
First off: Monaco = Great game. I got it because of BigPic as I had just gotten my xbox360 controller for my PC and wanted more controller games to play, it works really well in BigPic :)

Now the question: I have been playing with steam cloud saves, but I found that if I'm offline, I cant play with said saves - I end up back at the start (the lockpicks first mission). Am I able to get the cloud saves off the cloud onto my computer?

I have tried looking around, as normally saves are local and then uploaded, but I had yet to realise that Steam Cloud means Save directly uploaded online, while Steam Save means copies and uploads local saves (That might be completely wrong, I'm just assuming)

I got a cheat code from to unlock all levels. Just shoot him an email and he'll hook you up for your offline play!

I'm not sure what importing of the legacy save will do. You can try it in the menu.

Those cheat codes are on the internet already, as he posted them on a steam discussion :) I had toyed with using them

So the legacy save is the OFFLINE save, and importing it will make it your ONLINE save, which means you definitely don't want to do that. What SHOULD happen is when you are online, the cloud save stores some local save, but I don't think that is happening. This probably means that whenever you are not connected to Steam, you can't access your save. We don't have a solution right now, so the cheat codes will have to do, but know that your save still exists, it is just in the cloud.

Sweet ok - I know it does exist, but like I said, its put right on the cloud, instead of being copied from a dir on the computer - integration of steam's sync directly into the game, instead of just telling steam where the games programmed to save

I think ideally the game should download the latest version off cloud and store it locally.

Or save the game locally and have steam just upload any changes made to the local save folder... both would work :)

Squeezy are you trying to restore your progress or use the editor? I think to use the editor, you don't need to be online.

i tried using the editor online(steam) but offline in monaco and it works fine, but when i try in offline mode(steam) and offline (monaco) it always says when i load "steam cloud not synced"
SqueezyPenguin Jul 31, 2013 @ 2:55pm
and nothing but the first mission loads

I think you need steam cloud enabled for the workshop to work. Some weird thing inside of steam.

oh, when i went offline before this started happening no wifi or nothing the editor worked fine, al of a sudden it has messed up.. :/

It's weird that you need to be online for the editor to work, cuz as andy said, that is supposed to work offline as well. But as soon as you publish, you need the cloud.

yeah i have just messed around with it atm, i dont know if a legacy save or fresh install will help, however i have it installed on my other mac, and it does the exact same thing, fine online and nothing but first level of campain off offline
