Monaco or Don't Starve?
I was wondering which was better, if possible I'd like an honest opinion from someone with both games. Thanks!

They are both 2 different types of games. They are also both great. You can't really figure this.

I'd would say this one, but yeah as Austiyn said, they are different games.

Looks at library...
Don't Starve - 29 hours played
Monaco - 61 hours played

Don't get me wrong, I really like Don't Starve! I recommend both! Apples and oranges, I guess it boils down to what you're in the mood for right now... SP or MP?

Don't Starve is great, but picking up branches and berries gets a bit boring after a while. Monaco stays fun for longer.

Both are great, but Monaco is more about the co-op. Don't Starve is more about the atmosphere.

Both are great indeed. Don't starve is only for solo play, Monaco is ok for solo and great with some friends, lan, internet or same screen.

I've got both, I and my girlfriend are enjoying both, on our own for don't starve, together for Monaco :)

Well, to be fair, if you were to ask a forum for one game, you are most likely to get a biased answer. Not that I am saying monaco is bad or anything, it's just that the one you should choose is really based on your preference. Now, I've looked at your games and it seems you are quite fond of sandbox games, which Don't Starve is, if I am wrong and you are more a fan of stealth/action games, then I would have to say Monaco.

You could think of the editor as a sandbox ;)

Don't Starve has grown to be a really interesting survival game with roguelike sensibilities. This has its pros and cons, for example it shares other roguelike games love of sudden, quirky permadeath scenarios that require foreknowledge or many deaths to figure out. A common early scenario: you've worked out that nightfall will kill you unless you have a fire so you start chopping down trees to stockpile wood. Suddenly the tree you're chopping uproots itself and punches you in the face. Permadeath. Start a new character. Also survival depends on good resource management and this can ultimately boil down to spending half an hour running around picking up manure. Learning and beating the game, setting up systems to help your survival etc. are what makes this fun but it's not necessarily a game for everyone, especially the Adventure mode which is an incredibly punishing series of challenges.

Monaco on the other hand is a very fast game that starts off very easy and very explicitly tells you what you need to do so you can jump right in. It's fun even when things are going horribly wrong or there's a big difference in the level of skill in the people playing. You rarely need to think more than 5 minutes ahead but there's a lot of important decisions that you only have a fraction of a second to make: run, shoot or hide? Who should get the c4? Should you revive now or wait for the guards to wander off? It works as a great party game, but difficult enough to be a decent solo challenge and the upcoming level editor will only work to extend that. However, it's possible that you might find the action orientated style too shallow and grow bored of Monaco faster than you would with trying to beat Don't Starve.

I have played both games during their developement and currently prefer Monaco since I have less time to play and get a bit frustrated with Don't Starve. The upcoming "Caves" expansion looks great though!

I think both are good, it depends on whether you like to be lonely (not counting Chester) or getting shot at and not being lonely.

Don't Starve is really cool. But it gets stale and repetetive. I'd probably go with Monaco. Potentially more of your money's worth can be gotten out of it because of better replayability.

i've got extra don't starve, anyone to trade with monaco?
