Monaco
"Psychopath/Professional" Meter
Remember in the Resevoir Dogs game for the PS2? Remember the Psychopath/Professional rating system? I really think this game could benefit from a similar system. If each player had an overall psycho/pro rating, Psychopaths being the people that will just rush throught the level helter skelter not caring about alarms etc and Professionals being the people who are trying to play through the level as a group of pro criminals, then your online experience can be massively improved by searching for games with people of your particular playstyle.

What say ye, internets?

This sounds like a great system for Monaco, except maybe instead of a rating for every player, it could be a rating at the end of every level along with your score?

Have both. An overall rating for MP and an individual rating for each level

I was actually thinking of a good way to separate leader boards for people who try a sneakier approach as opposed to the chaotic run.

Wasn't sure if it would be too hard to implement though.

Basically have an "alarm" counter. Every time you alert suspicion to the point where a guard attacks you or a civilian runs to alert a guard that counts as one. Also setting off alarms from the various sources like cameras or hand scanners counts as one.

The less alarms you have the more bonus points you get. You could have separate categories for point attack and time attack leader boards. And in the event that 2 teams had the same number of alarms set off it would be decided by speed.

i think this can be a good update for the game
Eh, I don't like this idea mainly becausetriggering alarms can be beneficial in some places, such as creating a distraction for your other teammates, plus, on later levels being a pshycopath isn't possible, so it makes this rating system a little redundant.

That would be part of the challenge of it, do you purposely set off an alarm to make it easier to get through an area and sacrifice points or try to do it without setting off an alarm and perhaps risking setting off even more.

Since being a psychopath is the "noobish" playing style, I think this will just prevent players from improving by being matched with people who don't play the game well. I think eventually players learn to play by sneaking around alarms and guards since it's impossible to just run around in the later levels.

Pro and Pshycho aren't player skill ratings they're just a particular playstyle. I disagree with the alarm system myself though. Far too Splinter Cell. I'm not suggesting a system that penalises people for being psycho but to have little goals for people to aim for on a personal level. Some people, like myself, would love to have a maxed out pro ranking on each level and time be damned!! But im sure there are plenty of other people who want to be the biggest baddest psycho on the srevers. As I mentioned you would be able to filter the playstyle of your choice so there wouldnt be any players prevented from playing pro or psycho. Its just a way for people to say "I want to go for a loud speed run" and not ruin someone elses game who's trying to play a quiet stealthy pro. I hope that clarifys my point a little more

I like it but I assume most other people wouldn't enjoy being called a "psychopath" when it's obvious that in certain levels, guns make it much easier. In that sense, might you be a pro instead? Hard to read. Cool idea nonetheless :D

I'm just going by the Resevoir dogs definition of Psycho and Pro where Pro is considered get in, get out, no alarms, no one gets hurt whereas a Psycho will start gunning people down just because they get in the way or whatever. It wouldn't even have to be Pro/Psycho. Just an example really

I don't think a rating this simple would be beneficial. Ratings like this signal that a particular style of play is "correct," and tend to discourage other types of play. If you are getting coins, helping your teammates, and staying alive, you're playing well, in my opinion. Setting off alarms and alerting guards is part of the game.

This game isn't Hitman or Splinter Cell— though there are lots of people who would like to take a crack at the "ghost" playstyle and that's fine— if you wanna do a loud speedrun, or a quiet stealth-run, I think the best way to go about it is to communicate it to your teammates, and make friends with like-minded players.

.... and with the system I'm proposing thats made a LOT easier for you to do. I'm not in anyway insinuating psycho as a bad rating, and as I've already said psycho and pro are just an example. the two ratings could be Ninja or Leeroy if it makes people fell better about it. Im just saying a rating system to help people find a game with people who play the same style as them would be an awesome update

Why not have it just be a statistic that after a mission it shows how many active alarms, and passive alarms were tripped, where active alarms are whenever a guard spots and identifies a person on the heist, and passive alarms are whenever you trip any security wires/pressure plates/doors/safes. (Note, cars are excluded, sometimes you don't have the choice) It seems it'd cause a bunch of ruckus to have it be a X vs Y meter, and would cause lots of bickering.
