This or Fez?
So here's the thing. I've been waiting for Fez for quite a ♥♥♥♥ing a while like most of us.
And suddenly Northernlion pops up a let's play of this game, and I find myself attracted just from the logo (It's something that I noticed, that usually if the logo attracts me, I find out that the game is amazing too). I'm a bit low on cash at the moment, and I have to make this tough decision. Monaco or Fez? I don't have friends to play with atm, but I read comments with people saying the community is wonderful and stuff. What should I choose? And I know asking in a specific forum is a bit silly but maybe you will be able to help me out with this one.

EDIT: I forgot to mention I like thinking games. Does this involve some kind of thinking? Looks strategic to me.

This game does require a lot of thinking, a lot more than Fez, but Fez has some nice features as well, I've played a bit of Fez and personally I found it pretty easy, but this game is EXTREMELY difficult (if you go for all the coins, which is what you should do). Also, one thing that is nice is that playing with friends in this game is a valid standpoint, as you can group up abilities of the characters to make it a bit easier, but still just as har. Even if you don't have friends, it is fun to play with other people as from what I've seen so far is that the community is amazing. I honestly would prefer this game, but it is hard to get a non biased opinion about this matter on a forum for one of the games and not the other. I would suggest asking a community of Fez players so you can also see the benefits of getting Fez instead so you just don't get one opinion on the subject.

Just did, thank you very much for you comment. I'll wait for more comments for now and then decide probably. Thanks again.

while I haven't played Fez, and want to, I'd suggest going with Monaco. First off, Monaco can be a thinking game if you play it like one. you can go through all the levels never alerting anyone, or you can gun-n-run through. It's all about your playstyle. As for my reason why Monaco over Fez despite having not played Fez yet, it's more due to the developers. Fez's developer made it for consoles, and only ported it to the PC after people bugged him enough for it, and even then he was very condescending about it (at least from what I've read/heard). Monaco's developer on the other hand made their game for the PC and the xbox 360, though they stayed friendly with the PC crowd. I'm not saying to not buy Fez, as I'm sure as a game it's worth it, but at least wait until it's inevitably on sale.

Let me quote myself on this one-

Thanks for the answers, I might go with Monaco because it seems that Fez is a bit poorly ported.

If you join this community, the devs will talk to you and not say mean things to you :)

Fez has an under-game that is a hell of a lot deeper than Monaco. Both are fantastic games, but Fez will *really* blow your mind after you get past the obvious features.

No spoilers, but suffice to say Fez is a LOT more than it's 3d rotational gimmick and logistical platforming puzzles. I'm still surprised Phil Fish hid the brillance.

*edit: I will agree that the cubes hidden around the levels are easy to get. However, again, that is not the real game. The real game starts with the anti-cubes.

I LOVE Fez. If you are looking for a relaxed single player game that is about exploration, get Fez, it's one of the best indie games ever made, and maybe the best puzzle platformer ever IMO. If you are looking for more of a challenge, or something a little more unique from a game design perspective, or you have friends that you enjoy playing with, get Monaco!

Yeah Fez is really a thinking mans games. If you are more into that, I would go with Fez. On the other hand, I DO like to explore Monaco in single player, but it also focuses a lot more on the multiplayer. But what you like :3

Both are wonderful, and Monaco is a really fun co-op game.

Seems like you have a Hotline Miami avatar... as I say, this game is like a mix of Hotline Miami (I freaking love that game) and Payday: The Heist. If you like both of those games, you should buy this one. I'm loving it so far, and the music is a masterpiece!

Funny thing is, TC is right about the logo/title picture on steam. It's what first attracted me to this game and to check it out.
