Stuck in prison, need help.
About a year ago I got stuck in the prison after I found Ghroz. I couldn't open any doors, go back up the stairwell or figure out how to progress at all. So I stopped playing. I just recently picked it back up and started my old save file and again, I wandered all around, trying every door, clicking every person and trying to do whatever I'm supposed to do to get the game to progress. After watching a let's play, I realized that after I talked to Ghroz and left the hallway, a dialog box is supposed to appear and a gate is supposed to open. So again I went back to the hallway where the dialog box is supposed to trigger and walked back and forth but nothing came up. So I walked all around to see if I have to stand in a specific spot to trigger it but again nothing happened. So I went to Ghroz to see if I could talk to him again or try to kill him or do whatever, but still nothing happened. I can't fight him or talk to him at all so I checked my keyboard bindings to see if there's a specific key for talking to people. There's not but I found what key to press for the console output. Upon pressing it, I immediately saw the problem: "Talking Error: Dialogue script broken or absent." It's displayed every time I walk past the trigger point in the hallway.

I verified the install, searched the Steam forums, googled it and now I'm out of ideas. Can someone please help me? I've been stuck in this prison for over a year. I've served my time. Don't I deserve a second chance?? ___

I'm running the Linux x64 version of Avadon.

I would just start a new save if I were you. You aren't far into the game, and you can probably rush through the dialogue and get to the point in 10 minutes or so.
