Please push this post to the top to clarify the confusion about the DLC guardian bundles.

It's possible to unlock EVERY guardian/character with the ingame currency (5k gold).

What you get for buying the DLCs:
- instant access to 6 guardians
- alternate skins for the guardians
- 10k gold

ZombiestudiosKyle note: All original skinned Guardians are unlockable via in-game currency. The alternate skins are only purchasable via Steam DLC.

Thanks for this. Stick please, for future reference.

The only thing you get from the packs is skins. Skins are the only thing not obtainable with in game currency, so of you dont care about the skins, thne this is good advice. If you want ALL the skins, the big pack is the cheapest deal.

Well that will be nice if I can try out the dlc characters that I didn't buy on console. I'd actually forgotten how much guardians had cost, 5k each isn't too bad.
Triumph 26. Aug. 2013 um 11:14 Uhr
bear in mind it's not a bad price for the skins if you even want only 2 of the skins out of the 5 in those packs. on league of legends, you get around 1400 rp for 10$, which is one 975 rp skin and a cheaper one that happens to be on sale at the time, or a mix and max of sales and cheaper ones or cheaper ones on sale. those packs do unlock the guardians, which are unlockable through gameplay, but it would allow you to invest the gold in relics instead of the guardians, and even if you already unlcoked the guardians if you play even 2 of them enough and owuld like their skins it's not a bad deal. you get 5 skins for 15$ is the TL/DR, not shabby. i bought the pulsefire ezreal on LoL and have seen plenty of spirit guard udyrs running around there since I started playing it again, so trust me people don't have a problem buying skins if they like the champions they're gonna be using. if they main or plan to use at least 2 of the guardians int he packs, it will be worth it for some people. and stay away from legolas please, i will be using him or galadriel until I can unlock saruman and mouth and unglob lol. jk jk jk ;)

10K GOLD?!?!?! ONLY 10K?!?!?! LoL! "worthless" "elite". 1 GEM = 5K, 1 good belt = 35K+10K

So it sounds like even good gear won't take ages (like in LoL) to obtain.
Dr.Quake 26. Aug. 2013 um 14:10 Uhr
Not exactly. In LOL there is no "not only party time" items. In GOME your loadout bought by game gold - THE ONLY gear allowed to use, no shop during game.
Corvo 26. Aug. 2013 um 15:21 Uhr
Yea, i like not having to shop during the match, keeps you in the action.

Plus im not a fan of the whole in game counter building crap, usually results in a bigger steamroll for the winning team and only helps losing team if the winning team is totally clueless on how to counter build.

Don't get me wrong, metagaming can be fun, but just gets tedious after time IMO.

whose ready to get ♥♥♥♥ by Gandalf the champ on ps3 is joining pc :P i invite all to come play the second the game comes out

Thanks for this info ssss. Pay-to-win games are deal breakers. It really needs to be advertised more for GOME that everything "power-wise" is unlockable through only gameplay and time. And it sounds like this will take alot less time than League of Legends (This is a good thing).

From what I see here, the only thing you would use Real Life Money for is the original purchase and the optional aesthetics (the skins). < -- Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

thanks ... was concerned if the characters are only available through DLC purchases :/

finally got an answer ^^
The fact that they are behind a grind/optional monetary gate at all is ridiculous. It would have been easy for them to include all of the heroes from the start and sell costumes as an optional extras, instead you are encouraged to spend real money to shortcut the unlock process.

Paying for this type of game is fine, but I expect every character/mode/whatever to be available if I do. You want to sell extra cosmetics on top of the entry fee? Go for it, but don't lock content I should already own from me.
