Suggestions for similar games?
Hey folks. Im a casual gamer, almost finished LA Noire and the DLC and totally loved it. I'm not totally great with FPS but it's easy enough in this game. I have been playing it with the steam controller actually, works pretty decent.

I love the crime games, that aren't just 100% point and click but let you explore, drive, do some shooting etc. But I am a total noob to gaming having only really started last year.

Anyone get any suggestions for me for stuff that is similar or similar kind of theme? Maybe not anything TOO difficult, haha.

Thanks :)

You should try Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. A gem of videogaming industry. It's a calm and atmospheric open-world with attempted realism and attention to details similar to L.A Noire. It's old though, so it may not play and look that well nowadays, but it's still an incredible experience. Oh, also, it can be hardcore in some places compared to modern games, but I survived as a kid, so you'll be fine) Just don't give up on the first misssion)

It's not on Steam anymore, so you'll have to probably track down a physical copy.

As far as "crime games, that aren't just 100% point and click but let you explore, drive, do some shooting etc." go, I don't think there's anything else quite as good as L.A. Noire and aged Mafia 1. Maybe some indy titles that I'm not familiar with or that I just can't recall. For some reason publishers think that it's hard to sell an AAA-game that is not just about "bang-bang-bang". Or they just don't know how to make them.

Mafia got lots of shooting, and as I said, it's pretty hard in places) Maybe try out Batman Arkham series if you haven't already, awesome games with more adventure vibe.. If the Caped Crusader is your cup of tea, of course.

Thanks for the suggestions! I loved Murdered Soul Suspect!!! I also played Soma, and all the Sherlock Holmes Games :)

I love batman but I worry I'll suck at button mashing haha maybe I'll watch a "let's play" clip and see.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I am getting into this whole gamer thing a wee bit late in life haha.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Misdemeanours would be my suggestion, but maybe you have tried it already.

Sleeping Dogs (game version of Infernal Affairs movie) or GTA: Vice City (Miami Vice meets Sporanos). Way harder in terms of gameplay but the story is superb.

And personally, I hated Murdered: Soul Suspect. L.A. Noire is one of its kind. There is nothing like it in game industry.

Another noir game you could try is face noir, its an oldish style point and click game thats cheap to buy and very imersive, lots of clues to find, you play as a private investigator

I'd check out the newest Sherlock Holmes game, tried it last year and it was quite good. Not as long as LA Noire but a great game all said.

Arkhamverse are great games but I don't think it has enything in common with L.A. Noire. Except both are sand-box-ish...

Mafia 2 is going to be re-released on Steam today with -80% discount, according to this[www.gamespot.com]. Haven't played it myself but it has positive reviews.
