Is there a way to turn off widescreen?

I have reached a point where the distortion due to being stretched to fit a wide screen is affecting gameplay. I have turned widescreen off in the options, but it seems to have had no effect whatsoever. Is there any way to play this letterboxed so that things are in the correct aspect ratio?

Maybe mess with GPU scaling in NVidia Control Panel or Catalyst UI
