Sneak, or Blast, or Ambush, or Gun down muscle head soldiers or alien invaders...
Notice that word: "Or", more on that later. Enjoy my reivew of Crysis 2
~Prophet did what he could, he contracted the virus before death. He entrusts the survival of mankind with you, by giving you the Nano Suit, just before he takes his own life.
Sounds simple right? Well it pretty much is, and even though the game throws a few twists at you, it never feels like it is hard to grasp.
You are entrusted with saving New York from an alien threat, and it becomes apparent how important you really are when you come face to face with the Ceph, who pose a pretty large threat if you try taking them down with normal means. They put up quite a fight, even for a fully suited super tech equipted Marine.
~Remember all of those Or
s at the top of the review? Those options are what make Crysis 2 such a wonderful game to play.
The game loads sections of the map at a time, unlike the first game, and tasks you with taking-out enemies (Or sneaking past them if you can) to complete objectives. When given these options and the ability to scan the area for weapons and threats, you have all the options in the world to beat each section however you see fit!
The Nano Suit boasts 3 main powers that can activated or deactivated at will:
-Sleath Mode (Sneaky)
-Armor Mode (Tanky)
-Power Mode (Stabalize/Jump/Sprint)
-and Tactical Mode (...Tactical)
Pick one, or pick them all, and enjoy ripping enemies to shreds by means you chose!
The game is beautiful.
Look at screen shots.
I dont even need to write anything here.
Crysis does so much right, I am a huge sucker for choice in games, and an even BIGGER sucker for stealth in games done right.
Each mode you can activate feels balanced and you have
to adapt yourself to each one. Stealth is of course my favorite, and I would always do my best to get assassination kills with silenced weapons because when you expose yourself, some enemies will call for backup.
+Great Musical Score that hit all the right notes when it needed to
+Wonderful Pacing: You always felt like you were accomplishing something
+Superb Gameplay complimented by unique weapons and gadgets
+/- Graphical glitches on Ceph were farely common when executing.
-Character dialogue was cheesy...very very cheesy
