Try updating your graphics drivers and see if that helps.

updateing my driver caused the problem
monsafi Nov 28, 2012 @ 2:54pm
my is upto date
Pazatronic Nov 28, 2012 @ 6:10pm
My graphics drivers are all up to date too. DirectX 11 is installed. Video settings are all on low, VERY low I should say. I've even tried running it in 800x600 and 640x480 resolution with no luck! All textures remain solid black and very fine textures are in white just like the screenshots posted. My brand-spanking new computer should by all means be capable of running the game in at least 640x480!

same problem here. brand new laptop, literally bought it this past sunday. windows 8 might be the problem? idk i updated the driver, have tried multiple resolutions and graphics settings, and can't get it to work right.

sucks. i've been wanting to play this game for ages but i can't see anything and it makes it damn near impossible to play.

I tried to roll back my driver and it didnt work so idk what else to do the game is still having the same problems.

It is a driver problem. If you are using ati/amd card...you need to uninstall, run driver sweeper, clean out the registry manually to rid it of unwanted pieces of old amd/ati code, and then do a clean install. If you are running nvidia, check the box that says clean install.

None of you in this thread listed your hardware specs. Raise of hands...how many here are running a mobile card? Games are not fully tested on laptop graphics cards guys. Those of you running laptops for a while now should know this.

The minimum requirement for this game is a DX10 gpu with at least 1GB of VRAM. I wouldn't mind helping you guys problem solve because I am bored as sh*t but...you gotta list some specs.

ok my laptop is a win7 64-bit with a 4G of ram a intel pentium dul core 2Ghz B940 and a 500Gs of hard drive spae and a HD 3000 card not the modile card its a custdom laptop its can pay darksiders 2 fine just not this game sadly

Computer: Sony Vaio
Operating System: Windows 8 Pro 64Bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-3610qm CPU @ 2.3GHz
Installed Memory: 8GB
Hard Disk Space: 2TB
Display Device: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (DirectX 11)
Display Device Memory: 1664 MB

Alan Wake is the first PC game I bought in 4 or 5 years (the last one being Portal). I stopped playing computer games since the computer has to be "JUST SO" in order to run them properly. If the listed specs above aren't enough to properly run a two year old game then . . . All I can say now is, I remember why I stopped playing computer games and moved to the PS3 in the time between Portal and Alan Wake!
