How about NO? Srsly here's not remedy's support forum. And imo every gamer should have windows on his pc, other OS's are really bad for games.

Yes Linux support would definately be where gaming is headed, been a nix'er for years myself. While we have a ton of games already both new and old titles this particular game is published by microsoft studios so unfortunalty you have to boot the limited o/s at the grub or lilo screen (aka XP/Vista/7) or the better idea, use Play on Linux and a good version of Wine.

It's a DirectX game so native linux client is not gonna happend, try wine.

Omni, you obviously know very little about people and evidently less about computers.

This is about adding linux support, not about your uninformed hatred of things you don't understand.

I think it would be a great game to port to Linux, but as its an MS studios funded game originally for the Xbox 360, I don't see it happening. Pity really.

"In a speech to investors in February 2009, Steve Ballmer of Microsoft presented a slide based on Microsoft's research; while it showed no figures, the pie chart depicted Linux and Apple as each having roughly 5–6% of home and business PCs."

Desktop Linux marketshare currently sits at about 1.5%. EVEN Microsoft thought that it would be bigger than it is today. There are SO MANY issues with gaming on linux (100's of distributions, poor video driver performance compared to windows, Kernal updates breaking packages, non uniform soud libraries etc....) I'm also a nixer and it's great for what I use it for but it's a poor platform for games and I feel sorry for the developer that has to support it. There is such a lack of standards.

if it's a ms studio game it's probably hard linked to use windows.h, they would also have to re-write all of the direct x rendering code to be in opengl. Which is not going to happen.

Where did you get this from, valve proved that linux with opengl is a better os for games then windows is. with windows its all in the name directx and d3d and not on quality like opengl is.

Valve proved, but how many games actually support linux? You still can have both linux and windows on your pc, but If you want to play all the games without any major problems, you must have windows.

No more problems then on windows in fact less once people get away from bad code and awful memory management.

@Tasty Toasted Toad you ever game on an android?
Nibodhika May 22, 2013 @ 8:30pm
Why are you people so angry about linux? are you afraid games will stop supporting windows because of linux? Don't worry, Microsoft is taking care of that all by herself.

Linux is modular, and that is a GOOD thing, if you don't understand why that is a good thing you really need to either learn or shut up. Plus you can always do the same that windows does and embeved all the libraries that you need in your game if you want to make something "easy to support".

Actually if you want to play all games you must have every console ever released, because some of them have games that are exclusives to it. But the exclusive games for ps4 or xbox, for instance, don't say a thing about how good is the console itself, also the amount of games that run windows exclusively says nothing about windows as a game platform. If you think otherwise then you must agree that linux is the best OS ever, since almost every internet server or super computer uses it.
