the real fix for this game

1.Verify game cache
2.update video card drivers...or roll back drivers, who really knows...
3.reinstall DirectX
4.run virus scanner
5.shut off virus scanner!!!!!!!
6.add firewall exception for game
7.shut off firewall!!!!!!!
8.update audio drivers
9.try disabling audio drivers and running game (sound is overrated anyways)
10.curse pc gaming God
11.try reconfiguring or replacing game exe. file.....or display file...or sound file....or steam file....need I really go on.
12.At this point to save yourself from useless anger, do not go online and listen to everybody chat about how they have had zero problems with this game. And how wonderful it plays for them even on a lower end machine and there is no reason for it not to play for you (dont forget to tell them your computer stats they are going to want to know)
13.And since your really in no hurry to play this game that you have bought with your hard earned cash...completely erase harddrive and install operating system from scratch. Not a restore mind you, a clean install. Then go about business of reinstalling all the crap that was on it since the last time you did this (and if your a true pc gamer you know you have). Make sure you get the latest drivers...Duh!!14.If this does not resolve problems buy another "better pc". As this will probably be the advice of everybody else anyway when what they suggested does not work.
I5.If all else fails do the pc sacrilege and play it on xbox.
This guide is not exclusive to just this game, it has been tried and failed miserably on plenty of other pc games too. Please feel free add or take apart as pc gamers are good at doing.
Yes I really own this game on pc. No it doesnt work. But Ive made my peace and have moved on.
You know pc games actually get a bump up in their review score if they not just play in general but if they just friggin play at all. Thats just sad
P.S. I am enjoying Dishonered on pc though

Of course people wanna know your specs kinda hard to give you any advice with out, The fact that your so butt hurt by it though pretty much says it all
