i finished it a couple of hours ago, i think alan stayed in the darkness at the end. Doubt that alice and alan saw eachother. Im about to start the special episodes, maybe there is a clue there??

That is a seperate story, it isn't in canon with the actual game.

It is unclear right now where Wake is, but Alice is safe if the ending of the video game is anything to go off of.

Play Alan Wake's American Nightmare. a few things in the story are wrapt up in it.

If I remember correctly, American Nightmare is supposed to be like a Night Springs episode, where Alan is the character. It isn't canon, like Curtis said, but it does gives you a few ideas about how Alan Wake's world and darkness operate. Also, it's great to see some more of Mr. Scratch!

Alan stays in the darkness to save alice. when you finish the second special episode you find out how Alan is going to get out.

Where i play that episode?!
Remember the Stephen King quote in the Prologue about unsolved mysteries...
i think the story is brilliant =D i just didnt like the last 1 1/2 chapters just because there was too much action and a little too few story ~ but as alan said, things have to be balanced. he sacrifices himself to get alice back to the "real world" (call it whatever yout want, but i think you know what i mean :D). he also says several times that horror stories do not tend to end well and they just dont have happy endings. i really like the story and the ending even more (:

Good point there! :)

Yeah play the 2 extra episodes(on XBOX they were DLC, but included in the PC release). They are below the normal story parts in the episodes menu.

They didn't meet. He enslaved him self in darkness and by that he freed Alice.
