Should I Buy?
I have been looking for a new single player game for a while now and then I found Alan Wake. I was just wondering what are your thoughts on this and should I buy it?

Its worth the money. Its a great atmospheric game. The story is pretty good, the voice acting is top notch, the graphics are pretty amazing, there is alot of stuff to find. Some of the stuff you find is really nice. The ingame Nighsprings show is great. Id suggest playing on Hard since it seems like in this games its more like normal difficulty. The light combat mechanic isnt as bad as some people say. I had no problem with it and flareguns where really fun to use. The game took me 10+h to complete along with the two pieces of DLC, which are great if only because of the spinning room part (you'll see). The 10+h gameplay time is quite frankly without looking for any extras so if you are into collecting you can safely add a few hourts to that.

I would suggest playing with a gamepad, but kb/m also works.

I got it on one of the sales for something like 7,50. Wanted to try it out but wasnt really sure what to expect. But it actually turned out to be one of my favorite games to date..! Great atmosphere and overall gameplay. I recommend using a controller like the Xbox360-pad or likewise.

This is a great game for nite time. I try to get in a chapter or so an hour before bedtime. It's very eventful and yes, it will give you the shivers! Enjoy! ~Bregenz

I have played the game countless times and everytime, I find new aspects of the story or gameplay facsinating. I could understand why others could see the gameplay as trite, but I like the simplicy of it. Much like Max Payne before it, Remedy put a lot of soul into what could have become another TPS.

Buy it. If you're a fan of horror shooters, 3rd person action games, and even the first two max payne games, you should buy this,
However, you could end up kicking yourself if you don't wait for a sale, as you can get it a whole lot cheaper when there is a sale on. Not saying it's not worth the price, it definitely is, but it has been very cheap in past sales.

All this. Especially when it's a steam redeemable key. I preordered, and am about to start a 2nd playthrough now.
