Why you should buy Alan Wake
Ok, so first of all Alan Wake is my favourite game of all time! But why is it so good, there are many reasons (without spoilers):

1. The story is so awesome and well written and different from normal that it keeps surprising you and sometimes you just wonder that why did they tell me all this information, to add more depth to all of the characters and places wich brings me to my next reasons.

2. Characters are all different from each other and you can see that how much they put effort for just making each character feel more real, by their looks, movement and their way of thinking cause they are all so different from each other.

3. The atmoshpere is awesome! You can see the day turn into night and it is done so well cause the dark itself isn't dark enough so they add fog that there isn't so dark that you can't see anything but there is just dark enough so that you can see forward but not far or not atleast good. (This was hard to explain but it's so well done!)

4. Gameplay is different than normally 3rd person games are. It's one of the best games to make that cinematic feeling from slow-motion dodges and just walking in a forest.

5. The light is the most important thing in the game cause if you have light, you might survive, might. But all the reflections and the light sneeking out from the dark and saving your ♥♥♥ just when you thought you would die, it's just awesome!.

6. Re-play value is great in this game cause when you beat the game you will unlock nightmare difficulty wich is harder but not so hard that you will ragequit but it's there so that you would play the game again knowing abot all the stuff and watch gona happen when you read the pages.

7. Graphics in this game are not perfect but very detailed and cool looking, just perfect for this world.

8. Landscape is just so awesome, sometimes you just stop in the middle of the game and just look at the most beatifull enviroment ever in games and take screenshots so that you could make that your new screensaver.

9. The game itself tooks about 13-20 hours to complete with the dcl's so it's pretty long but not too long.

Those are the main reasons why you should buy this game, I don't recommend Alan Wake Americas Nightmare so much cause it could have been a great game but compared to the original tittle, it's just so awfull. But go buy the game before they release the new one so you could play that one too!

I wholeheartedly agree. I'm playing it atm (just got to Episode 5) and am loving every second. An under appreciated gem.

I picked this up for 7 bucks during the last Steam sale and it was well worth every penny. Took me just over 20 hrs to complete and I plan to play it again on Nightmare.

Yes, one of my favorite game too. With next-gen due this year (if rumors are true) I just can't wait to see what Remedy will do next. Hope this is AW 2 and I hope this will be coming for PC too on the same day.

Alan Wake kind of grows on you as you play it. For 7 bucks, during the Steam sale, you can't go wrong. As for all the posted gameplay mechanic issues some people seem to be having it would appear to be either the end user or hardware problems. Maybe even both....
